Picked this up directly from the vineyard in 2013. Has been properly cellared ever since. Smooth, medium bodied. A mix between black cherry, and slightly chocolate finish. Leathery. Delicious which complimented our ribeye steaks and garden salad.

I was not quite as big a fan this time around, I noticed less fruit and there were more savoury notes, but still nice and it worked with a dish of roasted Italian sausages and vegetables.

Generally I’m a fan of this Gran Selezione, but this one was over the hill: raisin, soft cedar wood, coffee, medium body, leather, some dark cherry, dry raisinny finish. Wine tasting evening.

Drinking nicely at the moment, well balanced, dark fruit, rather mellow, and pretty good alongside a grilled ribeye. I have another bottle and am debating drinking it while the drinking is good or leaving it a while longer.

I was concerned opening this bottle after seeing 2 "flawed bottle" reviews. Luckily my bottle was perfect. Fruit has subsided but still a very enjoyable bottle of wine.

Corked. Too bad, because you can tell it’s a good wine.

Served blind, this wine was tannic yet oxidized, pretty sure this was a bad bottle however the cork was in perfect shape.

At 12 years of age one would expect this Chianti to be at full maturity but there’s no doubt this still has some evolution and another decade of life ahead. Many reviews compare this to a Brunello, but I think it is more fruit force and less elegance than a good Brunello. The nose is rich and oak dominant with powerful notes of sweet vanilla and clove. On the palate this wine is full bodied with chalky tannins and a …

I enjoyed this more than the previous bottle two years ago. It still seems young but has rounded out a bit. I don’t doubt that it can improve further with a couple more years of aging. Drink or hold.

Blind. I thought this was a brunello. Almost It showed the dark fruit and oak but was slightly distracting. I think it was the sap or Turpin from the oak. Maybe more air would have helped but the other three in the flight showed better.

Served blind. Initially this reflected a lot of new oak aromatics, mainly clove. It also tasted very primary but when this had time to air, both the aromatic and palate improved yet it still showed lots of barrel notes. Chocolate and cherries, young with a good amount of acidity, too.

Fine, well balanced with good structure, integrated tannins, fruit. But it lacks a little bit something specific. Good drinking window, the next bottle I will drink in 1 - 2 years

Decanted 1.5 hrs, minty nose, with subtle notes of black licorice, terroir driven palate, with very soft hints of plum, cassis and currants, IMO very much ready to drink.

Still young, although within its window. Will last for years - kept getting better with air.

A PnP. Opaque dark ruby. Ripe dark red cherries, plum and freshly turned earth notes, very smooth and elegant on the palate, medium acidity with rounded tannins. A modern-style Chianti Classico, a bit extractive, but very well-made wine. Now through 2030.

Brilliant focus in this classic aged Chianti. Patience has been rewarded.

Rather modern interpretation of Sangiovese but very well made. Charming dark fruit, some cedar wood and aniseed. Could have profited from a tad more acidity but still a very good Chianti Classico GS and a clear recommendation.

badly cellared bottle which shows to be a little bit over the hill despite ins dtill young age. Paired well with a tasty bio hamburger under a cloudy and windy sky where crosses meet blades and PD. NR

Super CCR: velvety, cedar, plum, leather, dried dark fruit, soft oak, medium to full body, great aftertaste - 93. Rob, Bas & Nicole and family over.

Opaque dark colour. Slightly ripe new world nuances within a Chianti framework. Just ready. Drink or hold. Not my personal preference in terms of taste profile, but very well made. By the way, the 2010 is a fair bit more structured than the 2009 and is more suited to further aging. I would definitely drink the 2009 first if you have both.

This has entered its drinking window. Depending on how you like your wine, I would that this most definitely is not past its prime. Soft tannins and ripe fruit. Perfectly balanced. Went well with chicken parm!

Potentially past it’s prime, but still a very beautiful wine. Frankincense hints and sweet cedar on the nose. Palate had very well integrated oak and classic Sangiovese notes of cherry and red fruits.
