The wine originates from a very small vineyard plot of about 0.3 hectares Marsannay. The vines were planted between 1932 and 1961 on gravelly limestone soils at an elevation of around 250 meters with an east-facing exposure. Tasted at a Tempura dinner with other 9 aligote. It probably delivered the most powerful nose with citrus, peach and tropical fruit. Good intensity with medium weight, medium to high acidity. A delightful wine. * PYCM Aligote 2020 * Paul Pilot Aligote 2020 …

Relatively present nose of almond paste, a hint of linden and stone fruit flowers. Well integrated salinity, a lot of freshness on the palate. Acidity, yes, but walking a fine line and finishing off rather smooth. Would be interesting to look at it in 3+ years again I think.

One of the better examples of aligote I have tasted. Went well with food. Big fan of the 2020 vintage

Pleasant wine with citrus notes but not hugely complex. Feels like a summer wine.

Robert Rolls Burgundy lunch 2023 (St John) : Fresh, clean, rather simple. Food-friendly and very drinkable - it's a blank canvas, really - but lacked the expected piercing/exciting acidity.

I can't attest to the other review of this vintage as the bottle I just had was textbook Aligoté; piercing acidity, pear, apple, grapefruit. A really great bottle and was singing the high notes after just a couple of hours. Perhaps the best value $40 white I've had in some time.

Hard B- from the Catheter Disappointing when a top class producer falls on their face. I always get excited about these low end wines from the greats, as you expect a deft wine-making touch and the ultimate drinkability. Here it is nowhere to be found. How did they get it so wrong? Catheter somehow found a combination of all of aligote's worst traits. Seems as if the man hasn't cleaned his pipes in quite some time. reminds me of a …
