Great Maker;vintage; Vineyard . A very complex and impressive Riesling, with fruit going from grapefruit deeply into the stone fruit { peach /nectarine} spectrum. Possibly a little more forward than you would expect, as its arrived in its absolute drinking window now. Colour mid straw, and acid starting to evolve. An absolute joy to drink.

13%. Good semi-matured Riesling. Not 100% satisfying, because it lacks tension (minerality) and it is not totally dry. Pleasant, but not top notch. Reading all previous notes, it seems it was better at a younger age.

Golden yellow --- Nose tropical, mango, spices emerge, citrus notes, ripe pineapple, some apples, pear, dried apples, sea breeze, nice sweet tone --- Palate fresh, like velvet, appears complete, nicely integrated, medium acidity accompanied by an elegant citrus nerve, dried apples coming through, hint of green herbs, flinty, nice mineral flow --- Finishes rather smooth and elegant adding some tart notes. Nice vine, classic and elegant while tasty.

In der Nase reifer Apfel, reifes Steinobst, etwas Blutorange und deutlich steinig, fast kalkig. Angedeutet Petrol, allerdings eher Riesling-typisch als Reifenoten. Dazu etwas floral. Am Gaumen wirkt das sehr stimmig, hat einen sehr hohen Säurekick, ganz feinen Schmelz, wirkt ansonsten aber sehr trocken. Extrem saftig, mit sehr hoher Spannung. Lang. Über zwei Tage sehr stabil. Das trinkt sich jetzt schön, hat aber sicher noch mindestens 5 sehr gute Jahre vor sich.

Nicely matured Heerkretz. The bouquet comes with primary stone fruit, some chalky minerality and creamy notes. The mouthfeel is medium to fullbodied with a nice length. In a good drinking window now, should stay at this level for at least another 5-10 years.

Has started to take on some diesel nuances since my last '22 note. The field herb character remains prominent. Will be fascinated to see how this develops over the coming years given that it is already very drinkable and showing some more mature characteristics. Now till ?2031.

Had it four days ago, no notes taken, just from memory. An excellent and an archetype of a Terroir Wine with its massive dominant mineral salinity and precise flavors of rock. You can almost feel the soil with your palate and tongue through the wine. Further characteristics: Puristic, precise, unvarnished, natural, sophisticated, intellectual. Liked it very much! Fabulous. Broad exotic fruit core infused with weighty greenfield herbal elements. Green citrus zest, salinity combined with firm acidity bring balance. Vegetal elements. Über complex. Dry, fullish food wine of the highest quality. Now and for at least 15 years from vintage. An evolutionary Riesling. 93+

A beautiful and mineral riesling. It has an intense fruit core. Attack of lime and minerals towards salinity. A wonderful wine that needs time. Next bottle in 3-4 years. (93-94 points)

Really good and accessable wine right now. It needs an hour of air but then it shows intensity and class. Hallmark riesling palate and nose. Clean and elegant. Drink now or wait maximum 5-7 years.

A fine and complex nose of citrus blossom, gin botanicals, orchard fruits and smoky mineral. It is rich, full and unctuous but light on its feet. It has great volume and detail and wonderfully fresh acidity. Great balance and drive with superb length.

Transparent yellow with a green shimmer --- Nose fresh, breeze of saline, citrus vapor accompanied by some sweetness, cut grass, lemongrass, some apple, flint stone, overall clear and pure, almost steely --- Palate fresh, nice acidity, some sweetness, pretty strong acidity, some bark, some peaches --- Finishes pretty long on its acidic notes and citrus flavors. My first 2019 bottle from this vineyard, this is all about minerals! Nothing but zesty citrus+ wet stone licking at the moment, tight, no very tight, light-bodied full of Riesling tension, another of these wild stallion Rieslings, wait at least some 5+ years to get a balanced showing, *(***-?), around 92, 93(+) potential

Nice, crisp Riesling with bouquet of stone fruits, minerality and lime. Medium to full bodied it should be enjoyed over the next 5 years.

Beautifully aged and matured Riesling. Open and complex. Dried stonefruit, baked apple & quince, honey, streuselcake, vanilla, rooibos, carmomile, verbena... In general, more on the juicy side of Riesling, mid bodied, surprisingly fresh acids and very good length with the late surprise of ripe pineapple...

Still a nice wine, but not as nice as the others times I've drank it. Thinning on palate, bitterness in foøinish as well as quite a bit of alcoholic burn. I hope this is an off bottle as Instill have 3 left. If not, I would recommend to drink soon.

2007 vintage

Get it blind. Guessed Rhinehessen as a region but thought it was a little bit more aged but in a positive way. Phantastic structure. Exotoc and tropical fruits, maybe not as dominant as in Keller wine (same region) but with a lot of salinity and lime. But also a creamy finish with gives the wine a nice deepness. at least it need 5-7 years more of aging but even in this stage nice enjoyable. 94+

This time not blind and a touch "weaker" than last week. I missed in this case the creamieness and roundness but the bottle was empty in 10 minutes with four pax. no decantation this time. 93+

Popped, poured, consumed over next two hours. Similar to previous notes. Lovely.

Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. Singing from the pop and continually improved in the glass. Elegant, well balanced, medium bodied, salty, stony bed of minerals around a core of grapefruit, lime and honeydew melon. Excellent drive, grip, and persistence. Enjoyable now and should only improve in the cellar.

Stunner! I think I may prefer this over the monumental 2015 by just a hiar. Not as ripe at the '15, but packs just as much intricacies and that lovely saline element.

Riesling Riot 2018 : Pear, saline, spice and lime on the nose. Clear and pure on the palate, really classic Riesling fruit profile. Good length and acidity pushing it through. Really good stuff.

Tour VDP.GROSSE LAGE 2018 Vol.1 (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg) : The most mineralic driven sample from W-S, flintstone stone licking, persistence on the palate all the way, does not need a full body to show its very high class, deep minerality, sharp as a knife, ending with this mineralic precision long+, give this one at least 5+ years in the bottle, *(***-*****), 94+ potential

Very, very nice. Now entering it's secondary drinking window. Thinning a bit on finish. Wish it was just a little bit more concentrated. Drink now - 2022+.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #119; Germany Grosses Gewachs (By SB) : Beautiful bouquet with lime and pleasant minerality. On the palate tropical fruits like pineapple, minerals and beautiful acidity. Beautiful and elegant wine.

Poorly paired with shrimp & spinach gnocchi. Aromatic enough, but too full. Hard to rate given my error.

2013 vintage

Almost as great as the 2004 G-max earlier this week. A bit shorter on the finish - otherwise excellent. Bottle showed some seepage under capsule. Drink now - 202?

2007 vintage

Juicy with a lovely saline element. I am confident that in a few years, this will reveal itself to be a stunning wine. Interesting to drink now, but rather hold for the future.

2013 vintage

GG Tasting (Schäfer-Fröhlich, Christmann, Wagner-Stempel, Schnaitmann, Beurer) (Carpe Noctem Wein Göppingen) : Nose: Again, a more open nose with aromas of Maracuja, ripe peach and pineapple alongside some herbal, mineral notes. Palate: At the first sip you have a juicy, medium bodied wine in the mouth but then the high, laser sharp acidity takes over. Unbelivable tension and power on the mid-palate towards the very long finish. Needs a bit more time to fully get together but nice showing.

Vielleicht ist der 2007er Siefersheimer Heerkretz der kompletteste, der typischste Heerkretz. Genau nach 150 Tagen Vegetationszeit, nach einem feuchten Sommer einem kühlen und trockenen September und Oktober wurde der Riesling geerntet. Viel Saft findet sich hier, Rauch, Stein, Salz, wiederum die leicht tänzelnden Säure. Der Wein ruht in sich selbst und hat sicher noch viele Jahre vor sich.
