Decanting 2 hrs before event was helpful. Like the old world low ABV of 12%,nice dark berry/pencil shavings nose. Smooth on the palate, medium length finish. OK QPR at $25/delivered.

I so enjoy this wine. Light in alcohol (12%) in a classic style, this is a thorough pleasure to drink. Not complex but pleasing graphite nose, beautiful color after 15 years, and in a great drinking window now. Yum!

Tight and closed down on day 1, so I waited a day... Loads of leather, dark fruit and earthy tobacco. Full on the palette with bright acidity. Concentrated and palette coating without too much of a fruit presence. Long, smokey finish. 7-17-9-7

Ruby. Plums, lavender, spicy wood on the nose. Square dose of fruit on the palate, firm acids and tannins, long finish. Great wine with a rich moussaka. 50 + 16 + 16 + 7.

This was mind blowing good. It has the characteristics of a solid brunello with pronounced acid and light red fruit balanced with still present tannin and complex flavors. Paired well with grilled venison. Decanted for about 30 minutes which was plenty - the flavors opened up and stayed present for at least three hours after opening. Drink up because this is certainly in its prime now. Another winner from Garagiste.

Very interesting, unexpected experience. Red peppers, tomato vine, and celery root hit me immediately, with a wonderful blend of dark red berry flavors rounding it out. Drinking very nicely right now. Very versatile wine, but don't be caught off guard by the fresh garden flavors.

Cloudy garnet. Slight funky cheesy aroma initially that disperses with air, cedar, strawberries, earth. Strong acids on the palate, but with good supporting fruit. Good food wine with steak, mushrooms, and bok choy in sesame oil. 50 + 15 + 15 + 7.

Dark purple in the glass. Subdued nose of dark fruit and tobacco. There is a whiff of Brett but would not really consider it a fault. Has benefitted from bottle with soft tannins.

I don't get the reviews that say this lacked fruit or was harsh. I didn't find either of those things at all. This is a very nice, if simple, aged cru bourgeois. Worth every penny at $20. A great way to mix it up on a weeknight. As a point of comparison, I'd say this has more fruit left than the 2001 Meynieu that Garagiste offered at right around the same time.
