Beautiful. There's both depth and purity on the nose, it's red fruited (cranberry, raspberry, cherry) and accented by all kinds of baking spices. A haunting perfume. Not as many fireworks on the palate but it's delicious for sure, effortlessly balanced and transparent – the oak is almost invisible, I just get fruit and slightly saline minerality. I figured this wine would be pretty ok but this is way better than that, and there's no hurry to drink this, it's really …

A lovely Oregon Pinot; marvelous nose that follows through on the palate. Silky and smooth.

Food-friendly, musky, scrumptious Pinot Noir. I did not get the sublimity occasionally credited to the '08 vintage in Oregon, but this is a superb wine nonetheless. The closest to old Burgundy of the tasting - the leather, the wonderful skunk - but medium-light texture and fruit flavor to remind you of the New World. Probably has another couple of years in it, but ready to go now, too.

Decanted and drank within 30 mins. Ruby red, unfiltered. Very earthy Pinot with minimal fruit. Modest complexity with a strong earthy note in the mid palate. Nice acidity and balance. Medium finish.

Still a little tight so maybe we opened this too early. Great underlying fruit and excellent balance, though. Upside over the next 5 or more years, it seems.

Oregon pinot sampler at home : wow - finally an oregon pinot noir with excellent qpr - at 25 bananas this beats most, if not all, Pinot Noir I've ever tasted in the USD 20-30 price range. Good producer, but I am also chalking it up to the vintage. There is a lot of cherry and raspberry and some interesting wood spice and a bit of cream. But the fruit and oak is already very well integrated and it is …

This is the regular pinot from Brick House, the cuvee is not out yet but based on this wine it should be a blockbuster. The color is garnet with a nose of strawberry, cherry, rich earth maybe a hint of oak. The flavor is a sweet berry mixed fruit, nice acidic undertone with a nice finish if you hold it. 90, Willamette Pinot Rules.

Nice bright, almost tart young cherry. Racy acidity. Decent balance. scotch tape, spice. finish lengthened with decanting and aeration. Drank over 2 hours. Not complex yet, but does not seem shut down. May gain complexity with decanting or time in glass.

The 2007 bottling was a favorite of mine to pair with sushi. The wine was well balanced, but had a good streak of acidity along with the bright red fruit to make for a good pairing. I found the 2008 to be a bit deeper and smoother, with the acidity a bit less pronounced. Might not make for as good a pairing with sushi, but still enjoyable.

Very fruit forward, little complexity but has good balance with nice aciditiy and a very average finish. Very young and I wonder if this will improve with age considering this is only one year old. Given the rave reviews of the 2008 vintage, I hope this is merely shut down right now and will improve with time.

Popped and poured. 13.5%alc. Lighter in color/density compared to a lot of Oregon PN I've tasted in a while. Subtle, but still balanced nose of underbrush, spice and blackberries. An off cola note blew off after about 5 min of air. Similar notes extending into a long finish. Acitiy with mild tannins make this a great food wine. Great qpr for an Oregon PN. I hope this is what 2008 has in store for the Willamette Valley.

Nice, smooth Pinot. Not very complex but good fruit flavor. Didn't hold up to the Pinot reduction sauce over pork . Overall that we paired it with.

50 base points; color= 3/5; nose=9 /15; flavor & finish= 10/20; overall=6 /10. This tasting note is based on what I tasted the day after I opened the bottle. Initially it was very, very tight. I poured a little the first night, and wasn't getting anything. So I vacuvin'ed and revisited it tonight. Color is a cloudy medium garnet that's very clear at the meniscus. Nose is barely there at all. What is there is plum, with a funky B.O./afterbirth …

Nose of red fruit, spice, adhesive. Palate of red bright fruit, really nice structure and focus.
