Casa de Mouraz Encruzado Dão

Bought thanks to wine for the people and it did not disappoint! Quite good itself, outstanding for the value, as I guess one should expect from Portugal still wines. Good acidity but without any bite. Not a long finish but it wasn't a big deal, it stood up to an Andouille pasta (no cream) dish.

Floral aromas, with apples, lime, fruit stones and herbs. Meaty and viscous on the palate, with balancing acidity. Reminds a bit of a good Alscace Pinot Blanc.

A new producer for me with a stripped back winemaking ethos. The bouquet is spicy and lightly floral with mandarin and minerally crushed stone notes emerging with a little coaxing. On the palate palate it's very fine boned, racy even with a slightly creamy texture and decent fruit definition followed by a bracing but balanced finish. Quite impressive and its prime. Drink now. and over the next 2 years.
