Opened as part of a large tasting. PnP. Very aromatic with black fruit, earth, leather, cassis, and an herbal note. A beautifully mature with that still has plenty of fruit. Black fruit, cassis, earth, slight herbal. Medium body, well balanced with good acidity. Smooth , silky tannins in the finish.

Solid if unexciting Cali Cab, with chocolate, coffee and blackberry on the nose, but not great depth of palate or finish. It had probably aged past its prime. Still, a nice accompaniment to sauteed chicken with port sauce and figs.

Dark purple core with minimal color variation. The nose is expressive with an expansive leafiness, black fruits, and a component of earth. The palate is ripe but not jammy, nor big. The fruit is sweet and soft, well balanced by an acid lift that keeps the fruit from cloying. The mouthfeel is smooth and lithe but has power like a tensed muscle. Purple red color. Very expressive nose with cassis, blackberry, violets and quality wood spice. A very silky palate follows through with rich cassis, black olives, dark chocolate and a lingering spicy and flowery perfume on the back-end. Lovely wine for the price and is in its prime drinking window. The wine was even more expressive the second day.

This ris a very nice wine, especially if you let it open up for a couple of hours!!!! Great Structure, nice balance wonderful mouth feel and strong finish. Let it breath!!! I ran it through an areator and it still got much better after a couple of hours in a decante r.

Fantastic wine!! Great nose as soon as you open it, well balanced very solid tannins but very nice fruit. Wonderful feel on the palate, strong finish. This was better than the 97 vintage again, glad I have 9 bottles left. The will hold up for a while yet.

Very nice cab, great color, big fruit, smooth and velvety on the palate. Tannins settled in after decanting and it drank better than the 97, surprise.
