White flowers, wet rocks and lemon on the nose. Sweet peach, bright lemon, fresh herb, light body but with real depth, a good amount of RS but enough acidity that it’s drinkable and fresh even this young. This is great now and will get better with time, and is an absolutely amazing value for $27. ~8/10

Mosel Riesling is at its best when it displays grace and still carries an underlying sense of power. This Kabinett, coming from 100+ year old ungrafted vines, does exactly that. The aromatics are in HD, with the color saturation turned way up. Lime zest, pea shoots, the beach as the tide recedes - it’s all there in vivid detail. Pale straw. Characteristic stone fruits and herbs on the nose, with a very attractive vanilla/cream note as well. The palate feels quite full for this wine, maybe it's the vintage, or the Loewen style versus the Schmitt-Wagner bottlings I have more experience with. But in any case, this is impressively dense for a Kabinett without sacrificing its lightness. The balance is perfect, and it should age nicely - though tasting it in its youth is a treat. Coravin. Clear. White gold color. Rocks and firm white peaches on the nose. Explosion of peaches and honey on first sip. Light medium body. Acidic but not overwhelming. Sweet like perfectly ripe fruit without a lot of complexity. Finish is a bit short but nice echoes of fruit and mineral as it fades. This would be perfect with biryani. Just a lovely wine. Will open the bottle tomorrow to see how some oxygen brings it along.

Nose tight, with hint of white peach but this is really dominated by lemon, wet stones, green herbals and hint of bicycle innertube. For a kabinett the palate is Dense and Front loaded with lots of extract, minerality, touch of earthy smoke, soft lemon, tart kiwi fruit with salty finish. Creaminess to fruit, 9% alc. Concentrated, still Kabinett feeling, lemon, lemon peel, an appealing bitterness and the promise for more future fun are waiting to be explored. I need a case, and another one for the coming years. It's back on top.
