Still feels very young and tightly wound, with plenty of dark fruit and serious structure underneath. It’s still flexing its muscles, with tannins and intensity very much in charge. There’s a lot here, but it clearly wants more time, and it’s easy to imagine this getting more layered and relaxed down the road. Definitely one for patience although still very enjoyable now if you're in the mood.

Very solid CA Cab. BlackBerry, licorice, silky, long finish. Medium body. Kind of an archetype

Corvin pull earlier in the week for a side by side with 12 Coyote. Pulled the cork later in the week for a review. Dark garnet in coloring. Fairly muted on the nose. Tannins still prevalent even after ox. Drying on the palate. Dark cherry licorice. Holding next bottle a few more years.

Immediately after opening (0-1 hours): * Lightness, yet body. Huge. * Fresh blackberry fruit on the nose. * Medium acidity * Mildly tannic, but not harsh. * Needs more time to open. With more time (3-5 hours): * Dark fruit – black currant, cassis * Oak influences coming through – somewhat temperature dependent. * Lower acidity * Chocolate souffle * Powerful * Reduced Calistoga fruit+acid profile from initial opening A very enjoyable, modern Napa cab. Lovely complex long finish follows a brilliant concert of dark fruits on the front of the palate. All of this was preceded with a lovely nose including a floral bouquet and ripe fruit salad. Clearly enjoyed as did my guests. Opened at 11 poured one glass and let it breath in the magnum. Poured at event at 6:30. Wish our guests had left some behind for after but alas....... it was gone.

Had with dinner as final wine of the night. Opened magnum and decanted 7 hours prior to serving. Won the evening as "best of show" among the 6 wines poured. This was an outstanding wine and a joy to consume. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis) and ripe dark berries, toast, medium toast and oak. It tastes like ripe dark fruit, black currant (cassis), …
