Gerard Duplessis, Chablis Premier Cru, Vaugiraut

I think this is the first Vaugiraut i've ever had? Shows a tad sweetness in the pineapple, pear, and apple fruits...yet plenty of crushed rocks and citrus cut to brighten the fruit...ALL the classics of salty oyster shell, chalky limestone, dry extract, white flower florals...again, just a tad sweet on the mouthfeel...nice weight and balance...finishes long and refreshingly salty to the sweet, with sea air funk...Ahhhh....Chablis!!!

Tasted over 2 hrs -translucent light gold -subtle mild reduction wet stone lemon syrup -med acidity, med weight though not all that concentrated, rounded slightly spicy with a little bit of stony lemon reduction peeking in on the finish -decent, though probably a little closed down now, first time tasting this cru

Great wine. An amazing example of a chardonnay.

Awesome. General Chablis notes (green apple, seashell, chalk, citrus) with the addition of deep nutmeg and smoky flint.
