Seems to lack the distinctive BTK profile (I usually detect a juniper flavor and meaty body), but what is there instead is a super balanced, more mild build, very delightful and solid. Very much alive, but likely has seen its apex already - I would drink now or in the next 2-3 years.

Drank along with three other TOR BTK from 2009 (4, 6, 337, Old Block). This was the most distinct. Less in your face/big as the others, with a more floral nose and brighter fruit. Not sure I would have called this a BTK wine. Lovely though, and probably the one you could drink multiple glasses of w/o palate fatigue.

Started slow and thin, but somehow fleshed out with a couple hours in the bottle. Will decant the next one. Good nose, showing hints of BTK. Maybe the style? Either way won't be confused with Schrader or other big BTKs. I warmed up to it by the end, but hoped for more.

Drinking beautifully now, has years left. Into secondaries, balanced tannic support and lengthy finish

This is a special wine. Fruit forward, still very young with silky tannins and great balance, in typical Tor style. B2K fruit still well framed and adds a touch of elegance to the total experience.

2 hour decant. Medium to full bodied, Blackberry, herbal notes, a little tired. Enjoyable but this bottle is def not getting better in my view.

Good after 2 hours but this wine really smoothed out and became quite elegant at about hour 4.

Definitely needs a 4+ hour decant. Classic BTK with dark fruit, good structure, firm tannins. Mirrors many other reviews. Drinking well right now but has several years left.

Decanted and served. Delicious To-Kalon fruit made in a style somewhat between old and new. Firm tannins, full body, high-toned sturdy dark fruit. Drinking well now, may perhaps soften a bit with more time.

Super wine with good fresh nose and touch of cedar on the finish. Very Bordeaux-like.

Thoroughly enjoyed, and glad I have one more. For me, classic BTK notes that I love, and did not notice the alcohol note that others mentioned. Will check back in a year

Decanted three hours and drank over the following three. I wouldn't say it was a great showing; the fruit was tasty but compressed and restrained with a strong note of black tea. Perhaps Old B is not my favorite block of the famous To-Kalon vineyard.

Ignored the previous taster's advice and served right after decanting. While others loved it, I couldn't get past the overwhelming alcohol. It seemed to be starting to open up after two hours but was gone by then. Next time a four-hour decant. No rating as I take the blame for improper presentation.

This really needs 4 hours to open up. The alcohol finish and on the nose needs to blow off for it to be its best. I dont recommend pop & pour with this. Very full flavors. Lots of blue and black berries, vanilla and toffee. a little mint and eucalyptus on the finish. Really started to enjoy this at the 4 hours mark.

All of these 2009 Tor Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard wines are fabulous!!!! Produced in very small quanties for the Kenward Family Wines you just can;t get much better than this. Full bodied, well developed, and so ready to drink now after decanting for 15 mintues or so. You won't find a better wine than this for the money!!!

Nice nose, but the mouth and finish were very herbal/peppery. Bad QPR.

Consumed with good friends in Stamford. Had alongside a 2007 Herb Lamb cabernet. The HL was the crowd favorite by a touch.
