Quite open from PnP, and the nose is very Angerville. Good length, great balance, elegant apperance. Fruit seems to be a tad better than about 2 years back. Hard to resist these now.

92-93 Red fruit, roses, some spices on the nose and on the palate, which has a nice acidity, silky and softer tannins, yet lots of class and depth and very good length with a delicious finish. Gorgeous 2010.

my 6/20/21 note says it well, tho this -- with about an hour of decant -- was just a little more open / forthcoming... nice wine and took the rating up from 91 to 92 pts... no rush, this should be kicking / flourish at any time in the next ten years

Needs a little time to shine, although Angerville comes out of the bottle already from the start. Fruit on the lighter red side, although a more cherry like fruit slowly develops without taking over. Good length, great balance - but time helped it. Pure clean fruit. A bit puzzled if is a bit muted or just lacking some fruit, but given det development of the wine I lean towards air in advance or no rush drinking the remaing.

In an amazing place. Savory and all about the earth. Tasted after gachot-monot 2015 and whereas that was all about fruit and seductiveness this one’s all about intensity and earth. Tannins are so subtle and integrated. Dark red fruits and a touch of licorice. SERIOUS. Sultry. A smoke show of a wine.

pretty wine, felt like a down-the-middle Volnay village wine, red fruit and d'angerville acidity... seemed to have a slight deficit in the fruit / body at this point, wonder if there is a tiny bit of 'shut down' going on here... certainly didn't drink like many 2010's I've had over the last 5 years -- ie super open / friendly... wondering if we should wait five before opening my next bottle, drank over two nights and did open a tiny …

Dinner with the wine group (Millbrae, CA) : Light ruby, youthful color with minimal bricking; aromatic, red fruited, red licorice; light-medium body, low alcohol, medium-plus acidity, chewy red fruits; medium finish. Really lovely and I like the aromatics. 90-91

Very feminine/Volnay like. Can use a bit more time in the bottle but not a bad idea to open one now. Lacks a bit of complexity compared to a 2010 Champans opened earlier in the year, but still good.

Nam!

Angerville Volnay 1er Cru 2010 Pen nese med parfymert frukt. Litt på den mørke siden. Digg frukt med begynnende modning. Fin friskhet. Drikker bra nå, men ingen hast. Litt kanter i finish. God lengde. 91p

Rødoransje på farge. Mer nyansert og moden enn Angles. Frukttobakk, rød frukt, salt. Svak brett her også? Dog mindre enn Angles. Uansett veldig ren i munn. Veldig flott, full av tension ift Angles. Juicy frukt med heftig syre. Leskende og deilig. Medium pluss lengde.

Ripe berry fruit, with airy, elegant extract and good acidity. Holding something in reserve. I've had a few 2010 red burgs recently and I think they are somewhat shutdown at the moment.

Red and black cherry with dried rose petals and dried herbs. Charming nose with similar flavors, perhaps still slightly firm in the middle. Good weight and length. Better to cellar a few more years.

Infanticide, to be sure. But deliciously so. This has a fabulous nose with tons of red fruit, a touch of tea, a hint of oak spice, and lovely, lovely perfumed florals. The palate, although showing some oak, has a distinct purity and clarity about it -- the fruit quality is simply exceptional here. There's plenty of acid, and there's ample stuffing to combat the oak, which I bet will have a very good chance of integrating. Obviously young now, but …

Consistent notes. Bright cherry & raspberry. Stellar minerality. An elegant and beautiful Volnay. In terms of Angerville as a whole, if it gets better from the Côte de Beaune, let me know....

White and Red Burgundy-Mostly 2010s and 2011s (Beltramo's, Menlo Park) : Medium deep red. Floral, red fruited aromatics. Delicate red fruit, anise and chocolate. Lively acidity, some tannin to resolve. Very elegant, nice fruit offset by a dash of herbs.

Far from being dead. Burgundy funk on the nose, the wine came alive after sitting in a glass for 30 mins. Decanting it for an hour+ is a must!
