Great reminder of why I loathe Beaujolais Nouveau. Fruity bubble gum

Most of it ended up in a pasta sauce, but really not that bad. Cherry bubblegum and a hint of banana, light and fresh but not scrawny or skinny, with a buttery texture and a light and clean finish with pleasant papery tannins (86). The finish feels quite pinched and dry on the second day, even if length is good (85).

Floral, juicy and herbs,

Medium to deep purple colour. Nose of banana, followed by strawberry. More tannins than other nouveaux this year and a bit tarte, with a medium finish.

More or less classic Duboeuf strawberry-banana, with bubble gum hints. But with a certain stony complexity underlying it. Palate similar, even more banana, but with supporting acid and intense minerals and some herbal depth. Seems almost off-dry. Seems just a bit hot on finish.

Medium (-) purple colour. Medium and youthful nose with tutti frutti, generic cherry and generic strawberry. Medium taste of generic cherry and generic strawberry. Short and dry finish. Medium acidity. Light tannins. Medium body. An acceptable Beaujolais Nouveau with generic taste. Drink now. Goes well with pizza.
