Was very much looking forward to this wine unfortunately the Wine had turned

Yankee's vs. A's Tailgate Part (Oakland) : Really dark almost black and bordering on opaque in color. With a super concentrated whiff I knew the palate would be wonderful. This was like a baby Pride. With tons of concentration and a smooth velvet texture. It's seductive at the same time powerful. What a pairing with the steak.

I've had this baby sitting open (with a Vacu-Vin) for better than two weeks, and it's till a dense and nearly impenetrable wall of aromas and flavors redolent of wet clay - makes me think of a pottery wheel! Underneath that, there are definite notes of fruit and herbaceousness (nettles?) along with leather, spice and lots of coffee, white chocolate and cocoa butter.
