Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Bâtard-Montrachet

Nose: sésame, Chinese sausage, mango Notes: 13.5% ABV. Quite some mango and passion fruit on the palate, plenty of fruits in it. I must say upon opening the nose and the palate are quite different. I must say I'm quite impressed with the level of freshness here despite the initial Chinese sausage aroma. Nevertheless, I feel the nose maintains a rather musky and wet smell that doesn't really blow off with more breathing, I think I would enjoy this much …

This is a nicely balanced wine with great fruit and oak.

Out of magnum. Wine took about an hour to really develop that lush Batard character. Muted nose and a short-ish finish are keeping it a point or two shy of being truly impressive. Now mature, but it's not going south soon, especially from the larger format. Truly a very nice glass, especially at the price point.

RICH CHARDONNAY PERFECT WITH THE RISOTTO WITH CRISP FRUIT, NICE COMPLEXITY AND A LONG FINISH.

Lovely wine with a nice length. It lacked a bit of freshness though and showed a quite burned aftertaste after some time in the glass. I take that down to the vintage.

This is really nice stuff. Understated white Burg, some lemon, some custard, no oak that I can sense (great integration at this age!). The first glass was gulpably delicious. Good length.
