Weingut Jos. Bãumler (Jos. Bãumler) Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese

Dark golden yellow color. Honey, dried fruits and some petro on the nose. Oily and a bit heavy, but really impressive.

Deep gold core fading to yellow rim...petroleum & apply nose - healthy. Massive sugary / acid ... heavy, syrupy mouth. Not bad - I don't think i am much of an aged Reisling fan.

Deep yellow, almost a bit fluorescent. Intense, aged riesling nose, petrol, vanilla, strong botrytis, apples and baking spices. On the palate, oily and intense, but almost dry for a higher grade Auslese. Has aged very well. Medium length. Went well with the raisin jelly, but not really a good match to the cheese (dry goat cheese called tomme de chèvre).

served at birthday party at the weir house. never enjoyed a german riesling as much as this.
