Nice wine. No formal notes

A serious and tannic Gamay, which could use a little more time. Give it another 2-3 years.

First note is a wave of feral funk. Wild and delicious. Has 2014 acid in spades, definitely one for the acid freaks. But also ripe sour cherry, curry leaf, strawberry candy, and granite. A bit of structure, and could use a couple more years sideways but drinking well already.

Excellent. Really substantial wine for a Beaujolais. 13% alc. Bouquet: smokey blue and black fruits, black cherries, charry vanilla oak, Palate: blueberry, smokey gamey characters, black pepper, full bodied, big very soft tannins, good alkaline balance, loing clean finish. January 2019

Decidedly more funk here, but it stops well short of being too much. In other words, right in my funk wheelhouse. Lots of red berry fruit, too. Still that great texture that I consider a Hallmark of the producer. Intricately balanced, with plenty of fruit, acidity, and just the right amount of weight. Yeah. Uh huh. A Few Wines Tasted at Cochon555 (Chicago, IL) : Tasting, brief note. Good weight and balance with classic charming Gamay character, while with some modern styling providing positive supporting character. Very good value wine.

A Bourgogne- Tasting Evening (Nobbi Müller Burgunder& Süßweine, Hamburg) : More mineralic showing than the "Verillats", red stonefruit, very fresh with good subtle weight on the midpalate, ending elegant, saline and long, tasty now but needs some air or cellaring, *(**)

Winebar [Various Reds & an Alsatian Gewurztraminer] for 1/6/17 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : N: Berries (notes of jam?) & earth -- deeper than I'd expect from my (albeit limited) experience with even Cru Beaujolais; poss smoke? P: MF, poss Med, body; Almost swtish frt on front QUICKLY counterbalanced by acidity; Long, VERY slightly puckery finish. Possibly a tad disjointed, this has LOTS of substance -- & would likely greatly benefit by 18-30 most in the cellar. NICELY …
