Partner confirms it is still "orgasm in a glass" but now adds exquisite. The craft that goes into making this wine is labour intensive. Nut brown in colour. Nutty aromas. Succulent sweet nuttiness (hazelnut/ brazil nut) continues on the palate. Lush.

This is based on mainly the 2008 vintage, with some ’09 thrown in for good measure. It is rich and honeyed, with some chocolate and dried fruit aromas and flavours. It is super-intense, sweet and long.

Fine-Wine Winter Dinner (Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand) : Drunk with a Chocolate Souffle and Raspberry Sorbet, this was a nice match but came across as simple after an evening of extraordinary wine. Creme caramel, butterscotch and a touch of molassas - the wine has admirable focus but does not possess outstanding intensity or complexity. Yummy and fun at the dinner table.

Rum raisin, toffee, burnt caramel. This wine is on the darker side of dessert wines and almost feels like a meal in the glass, but nice and satisfying.
