Was expecting some awesome energy here but didn’t quite deliver. Still concentrated with flavors, but tired auslese. Moderate acidity and at full development right now. Nothing will go forward from this point on with this wine. Drink up.

Tasted at lunch with Ingrid and Juergen: Honeyed, deeply Golden color; smell of beeswax and fyrn; Perceptible age notes. On the palate complex and medium long. Wine is still good, but in decline. Drink up within the next 12 months.

24 ct. golden color, enticing bouquet of white peaches, some apricot and ripe pear. Lots of minerality. Generous middle palate, very ripe and mouth filling. Acidity is well integrated. Great wine. A wonderful farewell to my last bottle!

Dark golden color, ripe nose of white stone fruit and apricots, on the palate well balanced, excellent middle palate with touches of sweet extract. Great finish. Wonderful wine, will live quite a bit longer.

This was a really interesting Riesling to try... Balancing a Riesling at 14.5 % alcohol is no mean feat and this wine does pull it off. Yes, the palate weight is substantial and you're not going to drink this like a Riesling at 8 %. What you have instead is an intense Riesling best paired with food. I would probably try this with pork or veal. This wine clearly expands the range of Riesling and for this reason alone is …

Old golden color, starting to turn into a light amber. The wine sings; a delicious medley of honey, acacia, white peach; sweet sensation although it is completely dry. Complex and beguiling. On the palate it has good weight, fills the middle palate (kudos to the late Len Evans who was crusading about this), rich extract showing through. Dry Riesling does not get much better than that; definitively on par with Trimbach's Cuvee Frederic-Emile.

A wonderful wine! 18ct. golden color; Mature smell: Apricots, fully ripe peaches, some lemon; ripe, well balanced and fully integrated acidity. Great depth, complexity and mouthfeel and it just keeps improving; on the palate. Even though the wine is completely dry, it shows a delicious sweetness that is emanating from its rich extract and which gives it a harmony that is beguiling and intriguing and makes you want to take the next sip. Fully mature now but will hold a …

18ct Golden color; mineral nose with some fyrn, sweetness off the extract shines through. A picture-book Riesling: Mineral, with considerable depth and a great finish. Is maturing now and probably should be drunk within the next 5 years

After 09, 10, 11 this is another example that the dry Auslese Riesling wines from Hajo Becker are absolutely stunning. For this 07 Auslese only the little bit too high acidity prevents from higher scoring but that might ease with further cellaring. Incredible depth and various layers of flavors. Very long.

Wow! What a bouquet! Long and expressive, multi-layered and polished. A gem! The wine is right on top of its game yet should deliver many more years of pleasure. I would compare it to the Clos Ste. Hune of Trimbach, but at half price. Really excellent.
