P/well chilled. Clear, light straw color. Delicious stuff. Clean, fruity, refreshing, not overly tart. Apple, pear, yellow cherry, slight chalk. Nice balance, could drink this all day. Nothing off, steal at $19.

Nice wine. Agree in general this is an expressive satisfying wine and it seemed to develop with air contact over the evening. I would also add I find a definite chalkiness among the flavors. Just off dry and serves multiple duties well, paired nicely with a roast chicken but also carries it self deliciously both before and after dinner. Good for the price too. This delivers everything you're looking for from a solid Chenin blanc: highly perfumed and rich, yet crisp; with a respectable finish and just the tiniest hint of off-dry. It’s waxy for sure, with plenty of honey, wool sweater rubbed with a dryer sheet, apples, and stoney stone fruit. Couple bucks more than the Champalou, but delivers enough extra personality to warrant that pay raise IMHO. My second bottle and will likely grab a couple more.

Had against a California chard and sav blanc of high quality and easily won with seafood crisp and smooth.

Clos le Vigneau Vouvray 2013 is made from 100% Chenin Blanc The wine is off dry in style with honey, earth and apricot notes.
