Weingut Steininger Riesling Sekt

An incredible nose - so full of classy stony Riesling fruit but bubbly and made according to the Champagne method. The minerals are quite amazing and together with baked apples and a pleasant acidity, this wine is well worth a taste. The palate is creamy with fine tuned mousse and a lovely length on the finish. This is certainly one of the more peculiar wines I have ever tasted, still it is very good!

13,50% alc., hellgelb mit grünlichen Reflexen, feine Perlage. elegante Nase mit zarten Blüten, auch sehr mineralisch, auch etwas nach Marillen, rauchig. am Gaumen ganz trocken, leicht cremig, sehr präzise, animierende Säure. nachhaltiger, leicht fruchtsüßer aber auch etwas bitterer Abgang.

very nice for price! long and acidic. fuller bodied than expected. mineral and floral, with grapefruit and vegetal(herbal[nettle]). very nice. some sugar left as a balancer. Hmmm do I like more lighter bodied rieslings? Bravo I say!

Appearance is of pale straw colour. Some fastish legs. A youthful medium(+) intensive nose with mineral/flinty tones; citrucy (zest), tranny smith apples, a hint of lanolin. Dry with just a splash of sugar (4-5g), with pronounced balancing acidity. Medium+ fruit intensity of ripe lemon zest (lemon curd!), minerally with an oily mouthfeel. Medium(+) level alcohol and medium(+) bodied. Rather long finish with a crisp sour-apple touch at the end. Very well-made classic style Kamptal Riesling. Drinks now but benefits of …
