Il Grappolo, Brunello di Montalcino

Very nice brick color. Old but fresh in the mouth. Tannins have disappeared. Good pairing with veal.

Just opened this one for a casual pasta dinner and are enjoying it. Lighter than we expected however pleasantly surprised with it’s character. Shall be even better if it lasts long enough ;) we imagine this would marry well with veal.

Nothing spectacular here. Run of the mill Brunello. Light in body and taste. Some blackberry and red berries but very under stated. I won't try this again.

Not a Brunello producer I have had before. Bottom neck fill. Cork broke upon extraction. Red turning into mahogany towards the translucent rim. On the nose plenty of herbs, faint oxidative notes. Similar on the palate, a rustic style of wine, very herbal and aromatic but certainly not to everybody's liking. Bottle very slightly corked? Fine to medium tannins. Good length. I like this 1990 but it seems to be at the very end of its drinking window. Based on …
