Drinking wonderfully with nose of forest floor and baking spices. Long Anderson valley finish.

Great nose. Sparce legs. Definitely ready to drink and really good. 92 point from wine searcher. And valued at $124 Last night we had Lenmar Montasery 2016 and it was better than this goldeneye

(three-hour double decant before dinner) deep ruby with garnet rim and medium-plus body. whiff of funk on the reticent nose that ultimately opens to weathered dark cherry, pine sap, blood orange, and hints of mushroom and nutmeg. softly fruity on the attack, it broadens quickly: the fruits from the nose unfurl inside an acidic frame, accented by black tea notes and supported by fine grippy tannins. a magnificent layer of spice (clove, pepper, nutmeg) takes hold in the mid palate …

Open in glass for about 40 minutes before tasting, but this was better after an hour and 15 minutes. Drank at a blind tasting with friends of 4 Cali Pinots from different regions. Tasting: Duckhorn Vineyards (Duckhorn Vineyards) : Eighteen months in French oak. Aromas of cola, cherry and baked rhubarb. Cola and dark pinot fruit on the palate with a lengthy finish.

Of the "rich, spicy plum" variety. No greenness. Well made, but do I really want to drink 14.5% pinot noir?
