Ameztoi Getariako Txakolina Upelean Hartzitua

Crisp and pure, and very dry. Fruit lurking behind the CO2, but not a lot of body. That said, a distinctive, refreshing wine.

My first txakolina! The color of pale faint straw, with a nice fizz upon pouring. Smelled of green apples with a mild herbaciousnoss behind the fruit and a nice tartness. Drank on a warm afternoon following a lunch of Sopa de 7 mares from the little mexican restaurant, would of been wonderful together! On my second glass on the nose, I detected behind the apple and behind the herbal notes something reministant of the smell of the surf crashing... Definately …

Huge amount of CO2 - this is really a sparkling wine. Crisp and refreshing, but not carrying enough fruit. I prefer the "regular" Getariako Txakolina from Ameztoi, which has more sweetness to it.
