Dopo 15anni ancora in perfetta forma. Davvero soddisfacente, il miglior Amarone che ho bevuto negli ultimi anni.

Stampo classico e ancora bello vivo, ovviamente paga il confronto con Quintarelli su tutti i fronti, ma è stata una bella sopresa.

Better, more complexity, on the nose than in my mouth.

Ultra smooth Amarone that is at its prime drinking window. Straight from bottle to glass and nose wasn't as pronounce with slight brownish red colour tone not opaque. Taste wise its definitely rich tasting with loads of ripe black fruits accompanied by some peppery spice but not as intense or heavy from my expectations which is not an issue to me...velvety silky tannins and well balanced...my 3rd glass and it has evolved further to be more delicious (maybe my taste …

Robe grenat tirant vers l'acajou.

losing some of its fruit and picking up some chocolate notes on the palate. plum notes that I wish were more pickled.

Nice Amarone. Fine nose, with notes of rum raisins, some Christmas spices, and a nice balance for an Amarone wine. Good dark fruit, with a touch of earth and fig’s and plum. Not hot or too sweet, but balanced and “calm”. Really good effort, but perhaps a bit weak for an Amarone wine? Anyway, very nice to drink. 89+

A dark, deep purple color in the glass. On the nose, a mix of dark cherry and blackberry dominated, hinting at herbal tones with notes of cinnamon, milk chocolate and undergrowth. It was like velvet on the palate with rich textures yet a surprisingly vibrant and elegant feel with a fine structure lurking beneath it's layered intensity. Ripe black fruits and dark chocolate saturated the senses with a bitter core that followed this wine from first sip through the long, …

Decanted for 6 hours prior to tasting. Right out of the bottle just ok. After decanting I did not recognize the wine. Dark fruit blossomed, tightness disappeared and the finish did not quit. This wine was fabulous. It must be decanted unless you want to leave it alone for another 5 years.

Amarone Families (New York Public Library) : The nose was rich with blackberry fruit, medicinal cherry, herbs, earth tones and spice. On the palate, it was smooth and velvety with intense cherry, raisin and a hint of orange zest. The finish showed dried black cherry, burnt sugar and a hint of bitters.

Right out of the bottle the vine had almost no nose! it helped with 3 hours in the decanter but it was still quite dull. the palate had a hint of big amarone but lacked power, freshness and the fruit showing together. 24 hours later the nose was a lot better but the palate was not showing any improvement at all. A shame because I have had the 1985 which was a beautiful vine and I will guess that this …

(87) Lighter style, medium body, mineral nuances, misses out on inherent Amarone power. Tasted at Amarone in Anteprima in Verona

We are debating the half bottle. Is it flawed? In Luca Speri's opinion this half bottle is not showing the best. We are going to get another. "The amarone is made from the same single vineyard of Sant'Urbano, which gives the most traditional structure and density. 100 days of drying and we loose 30 to 40% of weight. "No controlling the temperature or winery, we open and close the windows and stop and thats it. "

Amarone tasting (Sherry-Lehmann) : Fine open nose, soft and lovely, perhaps a bit weak in the mid palate, but fresh and extremely drinkable. yummy, I have to say.
