pre auction tasting (union league club, chicago IL) : nose: ahhhhh, these are the kinds of scents that only brunello can bring with a lovely balance of perfumes, red cherries, anise, roasted herbs, and beautiful underlying tones of black currants taste: big and chewy tannins with high acidity that one would expect from a young brunello with red cherries, anise, roasted herbs, some violet tones, and black currants overall: very very young and done in a more traditional style. Edward Roberts International Pre-Auction Tasting (Union League Club, Chicago, IL) : Sight: Medium to light red; floaters in the glass Nose: Initially J&J Band-aids. Dark fruits and somehwat backward (austere). Taste: Young, grippy, good amount of tannin still in the glass. Fruits are there but it needs to relax - or stay sideways longer. Somewhat of an astringent component on the tongue. Overall: a good one. 91-92 points
