Dark purple. No decanting. A little hot on the nose initially with intense plum/stewed prune. Perhaps a little cocoa. Smooth over the tounge but a little hot on mid palatte. Medium finish. Concentrated black fruit and prune with a little spice. As alcohol breathed off the spice comes through more. Typical old vine zin but not outstanding.

Dark color to the rim, little thinning. Rich, plush fruit up front. Decent spice through the midpalate & finish. Moderate tannins. No acidity. LOVED our first bottle, and have been "chasing the dragon" ever since. Still, for the price, who can quibble? [14.6% abv.; $7.50].

Dark raspberry color. Decent viscosity. On the sweet side on the nose, even a bit pruney. Very spicy, intensely peppery. Reminds me of a Bogle Petite Sirah. I'm not real wild about this. 5-10-13-6: 84/100.

Clear ruby color, star bright with medium viscosity. On the nose very fruit forward with red berries leading the, fresh raspberry and cherry, a touch of spice and vanilla come in behind. On the palate flavors translate, Complex raspberry jam, blueberry, cooked plum and some nice baking spice with black pepper. The finish is pleasant with vanilla and oak.

It's said there are no good vintages, just good bottles. Well, here I bumped into a great bottle...Dark in color, but not opaque. Deep, musty oak on the nose, & not much else. Beautiful palate: Rich, brambly fruit upon entry, but never overpowering or jammy. Brightly acidic through the midpalate, but never tart. Pleasantly tannic on the back, but never bitter. And absolutely gorgeous black pepper rounds out the very end. Have paid far more, for far less...Definitely going back …

Popped and poured with some ribs. Better than I expected given the price and a few of the comments here. Fair nose with fruit and smoke. Juicy with lots of dark berries, heavy oak and some spice. Tannins not very present. Finished ok, but didn't last long. Won't blow your socks off, but an easy drinker for a steal. Twist top to boot.
