Orofino, Home Vineyard Pinot Noir, Similkameen Valley

Meh, this was just OK - medium ruby/black cherry red - slightly odd nose, smells a bit like cherry cough candies, there is a medicinal note, cherry, perhaps a whiff of root beer - but the medicinal/metallic edge carries the day - palate translates that into a slightly green/herbal streak, finishes dry and slightly tight, has good Pinot plushness mid-palate, but finishes a bit dry, with the menthol/medicinal note repeating on the finish. Good acidity.

I should have had this bottle a few years ago; not that it's bad, it's just boring. Zero complexity, not very aromatic...with very unexciting aromas. Sad...

Ripe fruit, wet clay, and obvious oak on the nose. Nice body and balance on the palate, very west coast in style, easily mistaken for an Oregon Pinot. Drink now through 2018.

Bonne acidité, pas trop de sucre. C'est un très bon pinot de qui s'apparente à un Bourgogne. Le bois est un peu présent, ça pourra sans doute s'améliorer avec quelques années de vieillissement.
