Med yellow. Oak, buttered popcorn, pear. Strong oak, only hint of fruit, flabby, bitter finnish. Missed this by a couple years.

wow... what a surprise. this bottle has absolutely stood the test of time and I agree with the last guy's review, although I wouldn't wait till 2016... maybe 2012 b/c it IS on the way sout but it still has some life in it. let it get to room temp and it stood up well with a nice light chicken and salad dish. I have a few other 05 P&H Chards left in the cellar. Can't wait to try them …

What Alan said with one exception: low acidity kinda confirm the drinking window.

wine was very oaky, more than I prefer. I won't buy this bottling again. I also don't agree with CT's drinking window, this will age and the oak will further integrate hopefully. I would say drink this by 2016.

Way past prime. Not worth drinking

Johnny brought into Cafe Bionda. Crisp. Apple, pear. More citrus than tropical. Balanced finish showing moderate high acidity and less body than previous P&H Zio's.

This bottle was much better. Nice minerals and citrus as an aparatif. A touch of oak to soften it up.

Shows a fresh edge to its crushed flower and mineral notes, this is creamy on the palate but offers enough grip and acid to fit nicely with food. Finishes on a really nice brown butter note.

Great seamlessly constructed. Satin on the tongue.

Mineral notes in aroma, she says creamy and not crisp enough, I like the complexity and finish. Pear and oak notes.

Decent enough chardonnay, but too pricey at $50 (Crown) for what's inside the package. the best part is the luxurious texture. Otherwise, a fairly simple but correct combination of apple and and pear is what you get. A bit of alcohol peeks out, so better to drink this sooner rather than later.

Good but disappointing. The color is rich gold. Good fruit at the onset but then is quickly falls apart. The finish is almost no existent. I first thought that it was a bad bottle but everyone at dinner disagreed. Even with the light meat the wine couldn't stand up. Would be a decent aperitif without food.

The Wine Summit 2007: Patz & Hall Chardonnays - Friday, June 1, 2007 - 9:00 A.M. (The Post Hotel - Lake Louise, AB) : Much more yellow in colour than the previous 2005’s; penetrating aromas – more tropical fruit driven, along with a presence of orange peel – soft, not as fresh as the Dutton Ranch wine; good blend of peach and pear on the palate; acidity seems muted by the fruit, but it comes forth well in the finish. …

The Wine Summit 2007: Patz & Hall Chardonnays - Friday, June 1, 2007 - 9:00 A.M. (The Post Hotel - Lake Louise, AB) : Very pale – even lighter than the Napa Valley Chardonnay; intense aromas, sharply focused – rich and sweet – ripe peach and a tropical note of pineapple and mango; very clean on the palate – acids are in check – round and full texture, with some citrus character, although this wine has a distinctive mineral element, …

14.2% alc. Rich and waxy apple, pineapple fruit...smoked hazelnut, vanilla honey butter, white flower, toast. Has a slight tingle, creamy mouthfeel. Reminds me of a Roussanne a little. Great flavors/feel/finish...but needs a little time to settle up. Will be wonderful in a year or two!
