The epic cookout (LP) : Absolutely adore Bernard Moreau and this was no slouch. While these wines are usually creamy and oaky when young, they develop this charm as they get older, really fleshing out and coming into its own. Bouquet is round and fleshy with lychee, longan, jasmine flowers, nashi pear and lime. Palate is pretty round and concentrated, lacked a bit of finesse and concentration but honestly for a village, can’t really ask for more!

Floral start with plenty of ripe apple, some faint peach aromas and flavors. Wonderfully bright for the challenging vintage, with particularly impressive concentration for its level; in fact if served blind, I’d have likely thought this 1er Cru. Very good now.

nose - key lime pie mouth - superb balance of creaminess, tart, and minerality. white peach and other pit fruits on the attack, with a slight caramel edge on the finish. if someone wanted a nice glass of white burgundy as an introduction, i would say no better place to start than here.

Started off a bit frumpy but with an hour of air this really blossomed into a gorgeous and rich wine smelling like powdered milk and tasting like creme brulee and churned butter with a lovely tart to keep the richness in check. Decant these babies and let them warm up!! Impressive

powerful. and more obviously so with air. loads of stuffing, and frankly young. the pit fruit is rather furled up, allowing the lactic side of the wine to show through. there is a laser like quality here that seems to tie the tongue. lovely acid finish and starting to get even better the longer open. I suggest decant.

Bumping it up a point from my last bottle. An astonishingly good village wine. I actually quite enjoy the 16s at this phase. If the knock is being a bit dilute, this doesn’t suffer from it. Popped and let breath for a few hours and enjoyed a few glasses over 3 hours. This is a typical and delicious villages wine. Open and ready to go after an hour of air. Stone fruit and minerals along with a seamless texture. Good depth of flavor and finish. Reminds me of the 1ers with a touch less precision and detail.
