The 2015 has mellowed into a fabulous drinker. ME Georganne tends to be less fruit forward and more earthy than most others in the lineup. It's reached a point of balance where harmony rules. No need to wait.

This Pinot Noir was delicious. Another great product from the female pioneer of winemaking in the USA. Age has tamed this wine very well. Nice balance and the fruits remain vibrant and well integrated with the earth flavors leading to a a nice medium finish. This wine has many more years ahead of it if cellared properly.

Gave it a 30 minute decant before pouring that first glass of dark-purple goodness! Certainly a little heavier as Merry Edwards often are but still very easy to drink! Incredibly smooth with wonderful dark fruit and licorice. Didn’t detect any “earthiness” - just silky smooth wine. Sad to be done with this vintage but it made for a great meal!

Slight burnish color around the rim. Beautiful burgundy like nose up front. Hint of violets. Touch of plum and chocolate. Weak tannins. Drink now.

Drank too soon. There was some nice Burgundy funk when I opened it but later the fruit took over. Drank too soon.

Dark, ripe and sweet, fleshy and tannic (Pommard clone). A report from the tasting host says leave it open overnight for better results on Day Two.

Opened and decanted for 30-min ahead of hearty chicken noodle soup. Dark, purple-violet color. The nose is hot (alcohol) and brings cherry blossoms, licorice, black tea, and crème de cassis. The palate is medium-full, square, concentrated and sharp, bringing a solid core of blueberry-rhubarb pie, dark cherries, wood smoke, plums, baking spices, and red raspberries into a hot finish. This wine is still primary. The wood and alcohol are not yet integrated, but given the pedigree I expect this will …

Great wine. It’s losing its fruit and becoming quite earthy. My last of the leftover Georgeanne’s from my wedding

Decanted for :15 minutes. Less fruit-forward than other ME Pinots. More earthy. Enjoyed, just different than the norm.

Uncorked about an hour before dinner to allow it to breath a bit - P&P first taste before breathing was disappointing. We let it breathe in the bottle for about an hour for great improvement. We decided to decant to give it a chance to really open up. In the end, a great bottle of wine that we should have enjoyed a couple of years ago. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in …

A excellent example of a russian river pinot noir. Not overly jammy as so many pinot noirs are and has an excellent backbone of tannins.

The nose was dark and rich, showing exotic dark florals, moist earth, wild herbs, ripe black fruits, licorice, sweet tobacco and a whiff of vanillin oak. On the palate, I found silky textures with pure red and blue fruits guided by brisk acidity with dark inner floral tones mounting toward the finale. The finish was long with a hint of peppery spice, dried blackberry, raspberry and hints of fine tannin.

Darker, firmer with lots of grip. Dark oak, smoke, black olive, earth. Good mushroomy core. Very good. Young, needs some time.

60% new French oak. Least precision of the four Merry Edwards single-vineyard Pinots we drank today. A little muddy on the palate. Very good, but not in comparison to the others. $63.

Merry Edwards winery visit. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral violets, sweet honey caramel, cane sugar, sweet ripe dark red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.2%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe dark red cherries, sweet spices. Long finish. Very good quality. Perfumy nose and fruit forward in general. Still needs some time for the palate to flesh out …

Medium nose shows blueberry, black cherry, molasses, general spice. Palate is nicely full bodied for Pinot, medium light tannins in there, blackberry, dried herbal tone, light spice. Seems a little closed at the moment, give it time.

P&P. A little closed on the nose at first but opened slowly with dry cherry earth and spice. Darker fruit profile more plumb with mix of spice cocoa a little menthol. I find this very interesting. Will be fun to see where this goes over the next few years. Glad I have more.

Straight forward, easy drinking Pinot. Fruity, smooth, short finish. Slight drawback is that for price, it is not as complex as other pinots from the area

Dark ruby color; cherry, earth on nose. Blueberry, raspberry, spice, medium-to-full body on palette. Pretty jammy. As it opened up the spice turned to soft tannins, with other oak characteristics coming through. For some reason I recall this as being more savory/mushroom character, but those notes were only starting to come through in this bottle. Decanted 30 minutes and served slightly chilled; this wasn't enough as the wine really opened up after 90 minutes or so. Definitely still drinking young.

Contrary to other tasting notes, this Merry Edwards just didn't meet my expectations. Hard to put my finger on it but it had an unusual taste up front, maybe earthy, not much red fruit or strawberry, but something "different" and not good by itself. It really came alive with rosemary focaccia bread, raising to at least 91 pts, but then took a turn for the worse with a raspberry Chipotle pork tenderoin. Really a Ying-yang Pinot. Some may call it …

Medium ruby color turning violet at the rim with a nose of riper fruit compared to the Sonoma Coast version; oak, and tobacco. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, and is more structured, riper, jammier, bolder flavors compared to the Olivet Lane version. Loamy flavors of dark cherry, blueberry, raspberry, vanilla, and toasted oak. Finishes long and spicy with hints of smoke. Drink now with a 30-minute decant until 2027.

for me this wine was very interesting. More cranberry and earth then the other ME wines. Lots of potential for aging I think. Perfect weight and balance.
