Tight on opening but opens up a bit with some air. Strong merlot character - lots of plum with a little of the Bordeaux warm bread and horse blanket. Surprisingly tart/acidic on the front of the palate, full mid palate but a short finish. Not bad for the money but I'm not sad about passing on a case.
