Jb Neufeld Counoise Ciel du Cheval Vineyard

Dark and rich fruity wine with smooth tannins. Unlike any other counoise I have tried. Nice in its own right, but not necessarily aligned with variety.

What a beautiful wine. Bright dark red color, and complex flavors of dark berry and strawberry, with a lovely peppery note that reminds me of mouverdre. Very fine tannins which complement rather than detract, and suggest this will age a bit longer. This was lovely with a marinated hangar steak. Should be even better in a year or two but you would not be disappointed by opening one now!
