At eighteen years, the fill level, label, foil and importantly, the cork were all pristine. The wine showed no sign of diminution of age whatsoever, likely at the apex of its drinking window and profile, and should age gracefully for several more years. The 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 Cloud View Vineyards wines were enjoyed side by side at Bourbon Steak with Rib Cap, grilled Vidalia onions and crispy brussel sprouts. The wines were left upright for a day, then opened with an ah-so at home an hour before dinner to keep the corks together, then quickly reinserted to minimize oxygenation. These cloud view wines are holding up very well. There’s a hint of brick that let you know it’s aging in the color Leather, Facebook, try boysenberry. Pallet is layered with dark fruit and powder and carry through with the long finish.

Drinking very well but still could go years. Developing some nice secondary earthy characteristics and really shows the Merlot nicely with a little herbal element. Nice acid on the finish too. Sadly my last one.

From famous Pritchard Hill, not quite at the level of some it's famous neighbors, but after breathing overnight, very rewarding the second night. I let this breathe all day and yet the first night nowhere near as revealing as the next. So now, I have to figure out today what I'm drinking tomorrow? It's what you expect from a pretty good Napa cab.

Decanted. Color is deep dark purple. Nose had a vegetal scent, but evolved to blackberry and a sweet aroma that I could not pin point. Full bodied, rich texture yet very smooth. Finish had a nice acidic tartness. Held up well on the second day. A solid wine. 5,13,16,6=90

While it had a tad too much oak for my taste it is a very well made and well structured wine. Built like a fine new world Bordeaux. I'm a fan of Pritchard Hill and this wine didn't leave me wanting. Decanted 2+ hours and this wine had that classic Right Bank taste being almost 50% merlot. Graphite and loam matched with dark fruits this paired well with gourmet grilled burgers. As I finished the last glass this wine reminded me of some of the Pomerol wines we had in the past.

In a great drinking window. Lots of dill when it was popped. Current and boysenberry up front. Succulent dark fruit, structure and balance. This wine is in a great window right now. My guess is this wine still has another 5-7 solid years a head of it. Enjoy.
