Chicago Gourmet Grand Cru (Harris Theater - Chicago IL) : Walk around tasting. Bright lemon, good structure, good now.

Clear, spicy lemon nose. Crisp and clean on the palate, lemons, melon, a light savory note. Lovely round fruit with no grassiness. Beautiful acidity and great balance. Long, persistent finish of citrus and spice. A favorite of ours every vintage.

Crisp. Notes of lime zest and some green grass. Great hot weather drinker. Light and tart.

Bright with loads of apple at first, but a bit tired and flat on the long finish - definitely on the downside of its prime.

Lemon grass and guava. Very floral with notes of lavender and violet (to the point of debating whether or not it was 100% Sauvignon Blanc) but very crisp to finish.

Wonderfully balanced with a hint of grapefruit and citrus, and tropical flavors.

color: straw yellow; nose: tart apple; taste: light-to-medium bodied mouth feel, pleasing crisp apple taste (wine's best feature), clean buttery apple medium-length finish; overall: a very happy and well-balanced wine, but also kind of simple, which I thought resembled a good lightly-oaked chardonnay, OK QPR ($15/bottle) but not a steal.

Nice sauv blanc, but well short of unique. Typical higher end CA suav blanc.

Not what was expected. Didn't seem to have any Sauvignon Blanc characteristics. Nose was not nice and palate no better.

Very pale in color, straw with a little green. Vey aromatic nose, floral. On palate this is very smooth, with a very subtle acidity. At first blush it appears to be too light, but there are no "null spots" on the tongue. Warm sensation across entire mouth. This seems very refined and subtle and very drinkable.

This is a really nice sauv blanc. Has some of the classic bright citrusy notes, but also some deeper tones. Stands on its own as an aperitif; good with food, too.

Wonderful citrus and floral nose that turned into citrus fruit body and finish. Incredibly well balanced with a very long finish. Lemon, pineapple, and melons throughout body.

Had tried this at the winery and bought a couple of bottles. This is the second of the two and neither of them was memorable or worth anywhere close to what they charge for this stuff. Not sure why I thought it was so good at the winery.

Disappointed given saw a W&S rating of 92. Found the wine to be disjoined and rough. Could not finish the glass. Three hours later after leaving on the counter and the wine now at 70 degrees it tasted much smoother so perhaps still young or acid was added at the end and the acid had not yet integrated. Typical a cold wine hides flaws but not in the case. Net, I would not recommend or wait six months to try. …

Very enjoyable, as always, from a producer that consistently makes quality wines across the board. Their whites are definitely the stars in my book and this is no exception. Crisp citrus, apple, light grassiness, and well balanced acidity. This would be amazing to have on a hot summer day or with some spicy Thai food. I can't say that this is worth the money, though. Even at the wine club price of around $25 (retail $35), I know there are …
