This one (the last one) is still rocking. Wonderful bouquet of earthy notes, deep red fruits, powerful. The palate tastes rich plums, dried dark berries. A brooding Pinot that is still holding on. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go another couple of years. Don't open your last ones quite yet. Enjoy.

Great Pinot and another example of 2011 at its best. Really nice acidity with a bit of orange rind. Great fruit and an interesting nose. Gone in a flash.

Wonderful tart red cherry, rhubarb, and earthy spice on the expressive nose and palate with a delectable acidity on the long finish. Drinking beautifully!

My second bottle of DuMol Pinot (first was a 2012 Ryan @ 92 points) and similar in style to the Ryan though I liked this more. Both were a bit rough on first taste but then blossomed. Earthy, muddled fruit, tart, cranberry, rhubarb, good acidity. Tried on PnP and with one pass through the Vinturi, the latter being better. However, I had the sense that aerating naturally for a few hours would have been even better. Preferred the Riedel Veritas …

Displayed some nice higher-register red berry fruit notes, cranberry, unripe raspberry, orange rind, and some alcohol. Outperformed a 2011 Williams Selyem Sonoma Pinot served alongside it. Fairly fruit forward for a 2011, with some good acid to frame it out. Not too complex overall, but fairly enjoyable. This could probably go another year or two with some potential upside. For those holding bottles, wait until 2018.

Well made, very nice. Back label states 13.7% ABV grown in the Joy Road vineyard around 4 miles from the Pacific. Some earthiness on the nose, lots of fruit, but well balanced. Drinking well now, but this should go for several more years.

Pop and pour into a decanter. In the glass, rich red at the center, rosy pink at the rim. On the nose, lush pinot spice and crushed cherries. On the palate, an RRV fruit bomb, but there is enough acidity to keep things from getting out of control. If you're a fan of RRV pinot, you'll love this.
