Matthews Syrah Hedges Estate Vineyard

Big, dark and brooding wine. Color was nearly black. I was worried about the alcohol level (14.9%), but didn't pick up any heat at all. Nose had a big blackberry element and very little oak. Wine was mouthfilling and had a good long finish. Would purchase again.
