미국 피노가 이렇게 여리여리할 수가 있나? 혀를 쪼여오는게 탄닌이 아닌 산미다

Great fruit. Drink now. Gave it 30 to open. Everything seemed well integrated with no harsh notes. Well balanced pinot. Bit heavier than other sonoma Pinot but region explains it

Decanted for one hour. Initially, the wine appeared light in intensity on the palate, but with time in the glass, it revealed its complexity and balance. The primary aromas and flavors shifted from ripe black cherry and blackberry to fresher red fruit characteristics, such as tart raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry. Appearance • Clarity: Clear • Intensity: Medium • Colour: Ruby • Other Observations: No deposits or faults noted. Nose • Condition: Clean • Intensity: Pronounced • Aroma Characteristics: • …

Low expectations given this was a mystery wine, from a producer I had no history with, in an AVA I’ve had little exposure to…. This was a great change of pace from some of the over extracted, Syrah like, big boned masculine CA Pinots I’ve drank over the last few years. This is made in a lighter and fresher style with a ton of juicy red fruit, structured with tannin and acidity, lively, balanced, and long, I’m glad I decanted …

Should have decanted as it got better over an hour. Have half the bottle left for today. Drinks like an atypical Rhys/Alesia.

Exceptional wine-making by Rhys, which has most of its estate vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains, except for this bottle that comes from grapes grown in Anderson Valley, home of one of my favorite Rhys estate holding, Bearwallow Vineyard. According to a Wine Advocate's 93+ review, all the grapes in the 2018 Alesia come "exclusively" from Bearwallow (which is not the same thing as the top-of-the-line Rhys Bearwallow Vineyard PN that is twice the price). What's interesting is that the …

Pop and pour. 375ml bottle. Gabriel Glas stem. Ruby garnet color. Nice shimmer to it. Nose offers a mix of red berries and some earth notes. Light and fresh with good acidity; turns a bit darker and heavier in profile as if it was oxidation.

The top shelf Rhys wines are great, and I had never tasted anything from the Alesia lineup. For the price, this is outstanding. This captures the great dark fruit of Anderson with some nice floral characteristics.

Good. Better than expected. Fruity but not too sweet. Decent finish and a good value everyday drinker from LB.

Last Bottle “mystery” buy and likely a special label. Really dark aromatics dominated by spice, forest, and black fruit. Mouth is also dark with subdued black cherry and plum. Tannins are present and dominant in the finish but balanced by acidity. Continued to improve in the decanter throughout the evening. Drank with ham, smoked sausage, and cannellini beans.

Pop and pour. Tasted over three days, keeping the wine refrigerated during the time. Dark ruby color. Nose offers dark red fruits and some fresh earth. A bit heavy on the intro showing a darker fruit flavor profile than expected from Anderson Valley Pinot. Has a bit of plum and stewed fruit as well. Drinkable but not particularly enjoyable.

Very Cali…. Dark red berry fruit, hints of oak and cinnamon spice, medium-bodied, silky tannins, easy, easy, easy to enjoy. This bottle was a notch better than the prior one—seemed clearer somehow.

Informal side-by side: Alesia Rhys Anderson Valley ‘18 and Cristom Mt Jefferson ‘19. Initially, the Rhys was plush, more immediately accessible, with berry fruit, hints of vanilla that soon faded, and smooth easy tannins. And initially, the Cristom was more tightly wound, with sharper elbows, so we decided to drink the Alesia first. Naturally, I had to try the Mt Jefferson again, and the sharp elbows had given way - if not to a bear hug, at least to a …

A good Alesia, a little on the bright cranberry-sour cherries side but got better as we drank it. More focused than I’d expected and experienced with other Alesia Pinot noirs. I feel pretty certain this will get better with a few years on it. Poured through a vinturi but it was not enough. Hold.

Much better than the last bottle in August which was flawed. Acceptable but rather unexciting.
