Pale gold; gooseberries, grapefruits, grass; gooseberry, grapefruit, lychee, light body, crisp acidity, good finish. shaunculwell's note puts it succinctly. Strong grassy, gooseberry nose and flavour. Distinctly NZ SB.

Very consistent year to year. 2012 perhaps a bit more tart than 2011. Always pleasant, refreshing. Great value.

The wine is a bright golden yellow color. The fresh and enticing nose has fresh cut grass, lemon zest, apples, grapefruit, minerals, and lime. This has light body, crisp acidity, and just a touch of sweetness. On the palate citrus and minerals hit first with nice herbal note coming in on the back end. The finish has decent length with nice sweetness coming in to balance out the lime and minerals. Not very complex but tasty. This was a steal …

Color: Very pale yellow. Nose: Very reductive, with an unappealing struck match / burnt tire stink. Under that are some faint characteristic NZSB notes of grass and grapefruit. Not good. Mouthfeel: Thin and tart. Palate: Bitter and still reductive, and underripe. Again, some NZSB flavors, but hard to focus on them. Terrible.

One of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs, there is always a bottle or two at home with us. Been trying this for several vintages and find it very consistent. This one seems young. The nose is quite pungent of grass and herb, much more than last year. The fruit has a more savory, slightly less ripe, ginger spice, kind of bitter lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit, and other citrus profile. Nice job with the acid. The finish is spicy, savory citrus fruit. …

Very light, yellow to straw color. Fresh cut grass, lemon zest, gooseberry, grapefruit, minerals and some apples on the fresh smelling nose. Very light body with crisp, mouthwatering acidity and just a touch of sweetness. Bright and zippy on the palate with the citrus and herbal notes with some minerality. The herbal notes continue into the mouthwatering finish with the citrus turning more towards lime. Finish could be a touch longer, but this is very nice for the price.

Excellent value. Grapefruit, lemon, grass flavors mix well - very bright, almost sweet for a Sauvignon Blanc. Pleasantly warm finish, lingering sweetness on the tongue.

I found this wine rather bland for NZ SB and lacking intenisty. Needs some minerality (which it doesn't have) if it doesn't have the bright grapefruit typical of NZ. Not a bad wine in any way, just boring, but still better than pinot grigio, and fine for $8.

A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc made in a slightly lighter style. Made more in the style of a California Sauvignon Blanc than I am used to. There is still, in much smaller amounts, those characteristic flavors and aromas of fresh mown grass and gooseberry. They have almost completely eliminated the "eau de gato". To me this is easier to drink. I always respected the New Zealand style intensity of flavors, but usually turned to Sonoma for my easy drinking swimming …

Nearly crystal clear with only the faintest hint of pale yellow. Swirling the glass revealed thick, well defined legs and a somewhat viscous appearance. Sweet, floral, citrusy, and fruity on the nose, with bold peaches, sweet lemon, and undertones of lychee. Dry and bright, peaches are first noticed, and begin mingling with flavors of mango and lemon. The lemon taste becomes more prominent as the wine moves to the back of the palate, and the finish is like taking a …
