Opened at #rieslingstudy 008 in Philly. Already showing much better than at release, with lovely complexity. Acidity, lovely fruit, and minerality all coming into balance with secondary aromas on the nose. I imagine this will be drinking even better five years from now, but if you have an occasion to celebrate and love sekt, this is far from disappointing at the 20-year mark.

Wine Tasting Group - No Theme - Feb. 22, 2020 (My place) : Opened for 2h in wine fridge. Lots of herbal and floral aromas mild honeyed apricots, apples and hint of nuts. On the palate, more apples, apricots, herbs, flowers, and a bit of tannins. Also with hints of mild oxidative nuttiness. Nice moderately long finish. Complex and just excellent.

blind, disgorged 2017 guessed 1991 or 1992 from Lauer. I don't the scent. It is too wild and herbal but not precise. In the palate the fruity Elements are dominating which I don't prefer and are not used to. Ripe notes, not Petrol but like a bit fermented peaches. 87

New Year’s Eve 2018: pale dark amber color; delicate perlage; apples, peaches and exotic fruits; smooth, slightly oily on the palate. A German Sekt from 1988: great experience!

Still a stellar entry that is distinct from the competition. The 1988 show less varietal character than the 1984s did, although they are also less acidic. Smooth,creamy substance, a nose of light flowers and only a hint of tropical fruit. It sustained its effervescence and nice balance throughout and was a very nice accompaniment to stronger fish-based foods.

Disgorged 2017!!! Get it blind at Louis Jacob's Restaurant in Hamburg from Sommelier Torsten Junker beside the Cristal 1988. I guessed Lauer 91. The fruit is too aromatic for a Champagne. The coulor was bright but has not the depth of an old well aged champagne

Disgorged in 2017. Well evolved in colour, on nose and palate. Deep yellow-golden, hardly any bubbles. On the nose hay, herbs, not much fruit, but also a slightly musty. On the palate soft, layered, but also a little flabby and tired. 85-87

BYOB with wines 30+ years (Sollentuna) : Veggies, fine on the palate though. Some pear flavored popsicle, all the extra stuff popping on the palate hade me going to a Langlois sparkler.

Grassy and hay nose with some smoke (like dill + smoked salmon) Rustic palate with posole and chewy fat. More hay, leave, herbal oils. Nice finish with mineral purity and drive. Very good.

A great way to kick off Rieslingfeier 2018, sitting across from Florian Lauer and sipping this gorgeously mature Sekt. The bouquet showed oyster shell, crushed stone, dill, and dried flowers. On the palate, it was amazingly soft with fine bubbles and brisk acids that balanced it's rich textures as salinity and tart stone fruits saturated the senses.

The German Crush Tour; 10/8/2017-10/16/2017 : herbal, rich sweet herbs, smoke, pine. rich mid palate with big beautiful Riesling flavor, juicy yet very dry. licorice toward the finish. excellent
