Saint Clair Family Estate Sauvignon Blanc Pioneer Block 1 Foundation

blind tasted against 16 others in my cellar with friends, this showed behind pack. mid straw and clear, it smelled of sweaty sock and grapefruit. taste of pink grapefruit, bit of white pepper, grass, a bit of stink, long length, med-high acidity and medium complexity. weak balance.

Pungent nose of gooseberry verging on ‘cats pee’. On the palate the wine is again pungent with gooseberry, grapefruit, passion fruit and fruits tropical in nature. A good length and balance. A good wine, perhaps too 'in your face' for everyday drinking but plenty of personality!
