We really enjoyed this- fully mature, super smooth tannins. But tannins were still there. Great black and blue fruit with perfect amount of oak giving some vanilla and dark chocolate notes. My wife usually doesn’t like the full bodied reds loved this one.

Just such a smooth, mature Bordeaux. Sweet cherries, French oak, pencil lead, and a sultry long finish. Certainly ready to go but it’s been 2.5 years since last bottle and it hasn’t changed much, so no hurry. Enjoyed with chimichurri flank steak, roasted root vegetables and a mash of Yukon gold potatoes, bacon and chives.

A perfect Thursday night drink. Good balance and fruit at a killer price.

Nice wine. Smooth. Seems fully mature but no signs of ageing so may continue to improve. Will start to drink regularly at this point.

Bought a bunch of wine in the $30-$50 range and each bottle from left and right bank. This was one of 9 bottles. Another one that was a crowd pleaser but at $40. So this is a better qpr. I got a case. More dark fruite, moca chocolate smell. Easy to drink. No tanning. No heat. Every day wine. Held up in bottle for 2nd day. And still taste great

What a great mid-week wine. Dark fruit, pencil lead and smooth as silk. Went great with prime fillet of beef, 8 ball sautéed squash and grilled Neely of new potatoes. Happy, Happy, Happy!

Ch Brillette 2010 Decant from bottle 120 mins Deep purple color with good clarity. Nose with intense ripe fruits, more black than red, blackcurrants, black and red cherries, blueberry, light spices, caramel and a little of licorice. Entry is smooth, rich character with minerals, dried spices, walnuts, plummy. Mid palate is medium to full, firm tannins with balanced acidity. Pretty long finished with a little bitter sweet after taste. Reaching her peak and good for next 5 years. 90+ pts

Lots of cherry. Well balanced. Hit its stride around the 2 hour mark.

I agree with recent comments. This wine has improved considerably over the past couple of years. Good flavors and a long finish. For me, it is still quite tannic which detracted from the experience. I will continue to hold and try again in a year hoping that the smooths out a bit more.

This has improved tremendously since I last had it in 2.5 years before. The tannins really softened and we really enjoyed drinking this before dinner.

Unexpected.... cherry notes that evolved into a soft plum that gave rise to the senses. A bit unique, but definitely not regretful.

Decanted prior to dinner and paired with a braised lamb shank. Deep, ruby color. Made in a classical Bordeaux style. The high percentage of Merlot is emphasized with very prevalent chocolate aromas and flavors: red currant, chocolate covered cherries, stewed plums, raspberries, cocoa leaf, aging tobacco, and iron infused minerality, mixed with rich dirt. Early in the mature phase. Firm structure, with tannins still lingering. Solid medium finish. Worked great with the lamb. Drink through 2025.

Nose of rustic plums, rusty nails, savoury meat and roasted licorice. Distinctly old world nose. Good depth and length. Palate is taut and dry with mineral and leathery notes. Medium-bodied, structured and clean finish which is again dry and lean. Can drink now and will improve for the next few years. Re-tasted in Oct 2023. Deep and complex bouquet, touch of ripe blue and black fruits with toasted spices. It now has a rich palate. Still fresh and structured in …

1.5h air. Medium/dark ruby color. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, brambles, leather, white pepper. Medium-full body, sinewy tannins, velvet texture. Round and seductive.

Much better than my last bottle. Still a bit rough but a nice fruit core (plum?) is developing. Long finish. I agree with the last note that this wine still needs more time in the cellar so I will wait at least a year before trying another bottle.

Another screaming good Bdx value, I think I paid €10. Dark fruited and firm, with some bitter chocolate, pencil lead and leather on the midpalate. Finishes with gravel and herbs. Drinking pretty well, but its rigid spine suggests further improvement is to come. Classic left bank.

Dark color; medium oak influenced aroma. Tart, yes; decent fruit flavors present, yes; long lingering fruit flavor, yes; earth components, not so much. Sediment present at the end of the bottle. Overall, enjoyable over several hours. Looking forward to drinking remaining bottles over the next 2-4 years.

Med body, low tannin, time will not improve much so drink soon. Give several hours to open up. Was sharp, I thought oxygen like too long in half open bottle...

Compared to the 2005, this is shy in the nose. Need some air to release the aroma which is very similar to the 2005 with a touch less ripe fruit and earthiness. But there are truffles and spices in the glass after an hour of breathing. Palate is less intense and elegant compared to the 2005. Acidity is also lower and finish a touch less firm and complex. The wine is still evolving. Let it sleep for another 3 years …
