beautiful pinot. Needed about 30 minutes and then lasted well with a steak and into after dinner. Well made.

Super wine. With superb fish dish. We first had a Peter Michael 2005, belle Cote, which was very good. None of other people wanted red wine so we had a glass ourselves. Super Pinot with age showing that the taste profile really has developed and matured. Worth the cellaring. Great fruit, great finish.

My last of a half case. Probably drank it early enough. As Puligny33 says, it is hinting at port. But perhaps it will not go down hill. I will not find out barring the generosity of others. I am really digging these Hartford zins. They are very juicy and powerful but at the same time incisive and elegant. I love Chainthroer's notes on this wine. Sweet blackberry, sage, flowers, Asian spices, licorice, black pepper and blueberries. The blueberries remind me …

Surprisingly good to my mind. I found this bottle when reorganizing my cellar; typically I would have drunk it earlier. A little "porty" when first opened but got better and better over the next two hours or so. A boatload of fruit and easy to drive no. It almost certainly won't get any better but drinking nicely now.

More elegant than typical Zin. More Cedar less Vanilla on the finish. Sad to see the last bottle go.

A nice medium-bodied pinot with layers of dark fruit, which yield nice depth and an extended, smooth finish. I initially thought I wouldn't like this as the fruit is not as bright as Russian River fruit (my favorite pinot style), but I very much liked this pinot. Great partner for our salmon dinner.

not sure why others have given this such poor reviews. I didn't take any formal notes, but both my wife and I really enjoyed it. It definitely is a full bodied, new world style, but nicely crafted and drinking well with a short decant.

Last tasted a little over 34 months ago. The wine is just about the same: "elegant aromas of blackberry, sweet black current, blueberry, sage, flowers, spice - complex. Same flavors, along with some licorice and black pepper. A big, rich concentration of fruit. Almost liqueur-like in the mouth. Surprisingly soft tannins. A long finish." I did not notice the heat so much on the back palate this time. Again it pairs well with a pizza wth everything on it.

30 min decant. While we enjoyed this wine, I came away disappointed based on expectations. It's a bit lighter than I prefer and rather one dimensional. Some decent fruit, lots of oak and a little pepper on the back end.

Very dark and weighty for a Pinot Noir. Oxidative notes especially on the nose. I suspect either a flawed bottle, but more likely (based on the weight and flavors) this wine is blended with a grape like Mourvedre or Grenache that can exhibit such flavors.

Drank with John & Tiffany as 2nd bottle of night. Enticing aromas of red & black fruit, spice lead to pure lip-smacking flavor. This lacked the sweet or jammy notes I dislike in zinfandel, so this was definitely my preferred style of zin. Despite the 16.2% ABV I did not find this hot at all. Very well balanced, with great structure on this zin too, and drinking very well now either by itself or with food (paired with bacon wrapped …

This has a hot big blackberry nose and long legs with its 16.2% alcohol. The wine has lots of spice mixed with big fruit and chocolate. It is nicely layered. The finish started off a little short but by the second glass, three hours after decanting, it's longer and meets "his" "lip smacking" finish qualification. It s big, spicy, lots of fruit, a very good zin. .

Better than my last bottle. Served at a dinner party was enjoyed by all, but i think this needs a year or two to mellow. Dark pinot fruit that is ripe on the palate. Some nice spice and soft tannin to keep it interesting.

Very good zin but probably 4 or 5 years away from drinking. Very nice initial aromas of dark fruit but my initial impression on the palate is green wood with some tastes of blackberries. We drank the wine over several hours and some more taste came forward, licorice, tobacco but I still tasted the woodiness in the wine. The wine is obviously well made and I am certain in several years the fruit will come forward.

Young, but jam packed with black cherry aromas and flavors, with massively ripe tannins and a long supple finish of black cherry liqueur, spice and creamy vanillins. As delicious as it is now, another year or two will do wonders.

Rich, complex and elegant. Mouth filling flavors and textures of strawberries, ripe cherries, nutmeg, dry earth and cedar. Soft tannins are nicely balanced and lead to a near perfect finish. Interesting after tasting you look at the wine in the glass and expect a dense red color. Instead the wine appears on the lighter bright red side of things. This wine packs a punch. Picked up 2 bottles this afternoon at the Safeway in Truckee for $35. One of the …

Super wine with intense flavors. Very dark purple with incredible long legs, on the nose notes of blueberry, dark fruit and earth. The wine has a wonderful fruitiness to it with multiple tastes of dark fruit, blueberry, tar with a finish of some smooth tannins and a very long finish. This wine would probably be helped with a couple more years of cellaring but it is drinking incredibly well now, a winner.

Popped and poured we should have decanted and waited a while how ever it is still a great wine. A thick wine with a great color and really long legs. My first impression on the nose was of cola and my first taste were of heat but that left after 15 minutes and on the palate were tastes of cherry, cola, and pepper with a very long finish. A really good wine, great fruit and not a ridiculous price.

Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties) : Tasted at Winery. Light ruby red in color with some bricking; with fragrant oak, earth, and ripe red fruit aromas. Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties) : Tasted at Winery. Slightly intense purple in color, with aromas of blackberry and dried fruit, and oak. This wine is super smooth, with the cherry and berry fruit in balance with the acidity and tannins. The smooth finish is of moderate length with some spice at the end.
