Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs-Gain

Excellent showing. Opulent orchard fruits with mineral and citrus zest. Well integrated acids keep the wine taut and fresh despite its richness and concentration. Long and delicious.

Drank this over two nights, and not much evolution. A full nose of rich apple fruit with explosive amounts of mineral. Delicious and fun on the palate with tons of volume and intensity. All orchard fruit and mineral. Reminds me a bit of Trout Gulch from Ceritas. Good stuff.

Tasting (Mostly) 2012 and 2013 at Domaine Bernard Moreau (Chassagne-Montrachet) : Tasting at domaine. Similar overall profile to Chenevottes just tasted, also somewhat forward, rich and round, while retaining good energy. Alex explained that Champs-Gain has more topsoil vs Maltroie, which drives those differences in the wine.
