Albert Bichot, Domaine du Pavillon, Pommard, Clos des Ursulines Monopole, 2011: Pale ruby with hot pink on the rim. Sturdy red cherries with a hint of sweetness, mandarin blossoms and dried haw flakes. The sweetness stands true on the entry but doesn't hamper the transparent juiciness and mineral soul of this wines. Mid palate weight is propped up by fine grained tannins, demarcating and moderate length finish of sour-dry cherries. Pleasant and interesting.

Good color. The nose shows lovely ripe fruit, with a hint of minerals. This is medium full bodied on the palate, with very good concentration and good finesse. Good structure. The medium plus length finish shows ripe tannins and good acidity. Accessible.

Weekend in Cleveland; 4/4/2014-4/8/2014 : Very nice, straightforward Burgundy that we consumed far too young. I think it will be far more special and merit a 92 point score if cellared until 2018+. Currently it wasn't offering much complexity on the nose, and only a little more on the palate. Nice structure however, med tannins, built to last.

Medium-high intensity bouquet featuring pomegranate, red & black fruits, elegant spice, and new oak. Medium-bodied with earthy, cherry-cran, and orange citrusy flavours on the palate. Slightly astringent tannins, balanced acids, savoury earthy & fruity finish. Will reward 2-3 years in cellar.

Showing well with good aromatics of earth, spice, rust and brown spices; a bit softer, rounder than Rugiens, but still ample body, concentrated rich dark fruits with medium Pommard tannins. Good red '11 Burg that's charming, good fruit, and no green aspect that's often prevalent. Good value compared to the Rugien too.

Reduction on the nose, good concentration and tannins typical of a pommard.
