Planning for the 1st tailgate of the year in unusually chilly weather, I was looking for a mellow PS to accompany barbecued pulled pork, a variety of salads, veggies, deviled eggs and fall apples. Although its beautiful dark purple color was lost in red plastic cups, its delicious nose was not. It opened quickly in the flat bottomed cups. Despite the sediment, it was very smooth, with a spicy, dark fruit taste. It had enough tannins for an enjoyable finish. …

Smooth, well-balanced tannins, but not a lot of complexity for a Petit Sirah. Very drinkable anyway. Relatively low acidity. Worried a bit by the bouquet and sedimentation right out of the bottle, but neither was actually a concern after breathing/ aeration and light straining. Impressive handling of the meal from appetizers through salad, entrée (pot roast), and dessert (apples with honey and aged cheese). Time to drink this if you still have a bottle or two in your cellar.

Dark plum in color,medium-bodied with lots to hold on to on the palate while spice & dark berries linger.

Oh yeah ... a stain the teeth, I don't care petite! Dark cherries and other dark fruit on the nose and palate. Great balance. This was wonderful prior and during the meal. I can only say ... WOOHOO!!

Delic!

Black cherry at first. Tobacco after it opened up with a slight peppery finish. Perfect tanins, had with filet mignon on the grill, and was perfect.
