Big ripe heady cab. Honestly, not really my style but pretty good if that’s your preference

Delicious wine. Great spot. Everything seemed fully integrated, super smooth mouthfeel, long finish. Good fruit without being sweet or cloying, like many Napa cabs.

Heady and intense nose of red fruits and spices. The tannins are present but have mellowed. A core of cassis, cedar, chocolate and chocolate cigar box. Well balanced, long finish. Excellent wine, that is drinking well.

Decanted 1+hr Blackberry and crushed gravel on the nose, also high alcohol. Riper fruit, whole blackberry bunch, including the stem. Baking spices, anise, graphite, tobacco. Grippy tannins, med acidity. May not benefit from additional ageing. Would buy again.

Concentrated, fruit forward with blackberry jam, mocha, milk chocolate - intense notes. Hints of lavender and spice on its super long finish. This is a classic Napa cult blend that is velvety smooth, soft and very enjoyable to drink.

Blackberry, raspberry, cola, tea, and a touch of earth all in balance and showing well. Rounded tannins and just the right amount of acid to hold it all together. Long finish.

Needs ample air time before consumption. 90 min - 2hours before first attempt. Nose was somewhat muted although the mid palate delivered beautiful blackberry, blueberry, and mulberry layers of fruit. Spice box with Polished tannin and the finish lasted wonderfully. Powerful Blend from historic site and historic vintage. Enjoy!

decanted and drank over 2 hours. medium body, purple fruits, but not quite to the coffee/chocolate fruit profile. merlot here adds nice roundness and an easy drink. finishes with good spicebox.

The hit of the afternoon lunch... a big guy that is just full of flavor. Better than the 2012 Eisele by a point. What a pleasure to drink, and at a realistic price, half the cost of the Araujo! 12/28/19 Another bottle, not quite as successful as the earlier one... still a bit tight, might have needed a bit more air time. Scored it 95, a point behind a 2013 Beringer Reserve that was smoother.

I would still say that, all in all, this wine is still locked up tight. Fruit profile is good and has distinct black and blue fruit notes with mocha and espresso in the middle. Chalky youthful sweet finish but the oak on the back of this one shuts it down. I wouldn't touch this for a few years if I had any.

Terrific++ but young. Drank with friends after a splash decant at our local BYOB French bistro. On the doorstep of maturity but 2-3 years away from explosive greatness. Plenty of stuffing here but reticent nose of berries, mocha, plum and spice. If fortunate enough to own some decant extensively on a cookie sheet. If a date, this was a 19 year old Nebraska farm beauty about to thrill Madison Avenue with brains and beauty

Outstanding, but was a pop and pour at a restaurant. I'll decant the next one in 3-4 years.

Showed better this time as a pop and pour with 1 hour open. Big extracted wine but hightly structured with nice acidity. Chalky cassis, milk chocolate, blueberry liqueur, cherry syrup, sage, and sharp blackberry are in the foreground. Minerality (graphite) really kick up on the finish adding some freshness. The texture and depth fattened up substantially after an hour open. I’d recommend a short decant (1 or 2 hours) or holding for 5 more years.

Decanted 3 hours and still pretty astringent and short. Still loads of chalky cassis, milk chocolate, cassis liqueur, cherry syrup, minerals, and sharp blackberry. The fruit is ripe but the tannins and structure are slightly overpowering at the moment. Definitely not the fruit bomb this has been in past years. Hold for 5 years plus.

A bit more alcohol than my first bottle, knocking a point off the score. Still, this is an excellent wine, full of blackberries, blueberries, and enough acid and structure to stand up to red meats and strong cheeses. Incredible depth and a very long finish. Highly recommended.

I had read Parker's review of this wine and had been looking at this bottle for several months so I decided to dig in. This wine is a beauty that has floral notes, plenty of dark fruit with spice and a long complex finish. I gave it a one-hour slow ox and did it ever perform!

2015 Napa Trip - Day 3 : Note: We did not taste the final 2013 blend. We tasted from barrels. Andy and Michel were set to do final blending about 2 weeks after our visit. We first tasted a barrel with 60% cab and 40% merlot. This was a super sexy, velvety wine already. I could have put away a couple of glasses of this easily. Incredible. I certainly hope the final blend is close to this - will buy …
