Plastic cork. The wine was transparent dark ruby in colour and offered red and dark fruit as well as hints of chocolate, coffee and vanilla on the nose and palate, with medium-plus acidity and medium-level, slightly underripe tannin. The medium to full-bodied wine was disjointed, tasted bitter and finished short. Disappointing; as far as I can recall I liked the 2001 I had back in 2006 much better. Even at EUR 12.- this seems grossly overpriced. Avoid.
