Fresh and open with elegant cherry fruit but also still some tannins. Could need more time but it is fully open and tastes really good right now.

Ok, it's started the same like yesterday with Chateau Camensac. Excellent condition of cork( like from 3-5 years old wine), almost no sediments (!), color closer to red then brown. Smell - fantastic, but... fortunately the wine didn't end up like yesterday wine. It was simply much better! Although the smell, I would say, was not so excited like smell of Chateau Camensac. It's typical aromas of red cherry, tobacco, earth, herbs. Nice, but no surprise. But taste!? Perfect balance, …

Very nice. Quite classic and well integrated. Did not write a direct tasting note but this has aged well. I do not recognize the early tannins from my previous 2018 note.

Really nice nose, continues to develop nicely; however extreme tannic finish difficult to get past. This will hold for some time but, unfortunately, I don’t think it will ever soften.

Have had this in the cellar for years. Forgot I had it and was looking for something to have with homemade pizza. Decanted for 30-45 minutes and was very pleased. Bold, juicy and a bit dry, all I am looking for in an Italian. Could be put back a few more years, but was happy with the wine.

Let this decant for at least an hour, really opened up after an hour.

Lots of good fruit, but a little too oppressed by oak and barrique.

Has matured well over the intervening years. It is drinking very well, at present.

Lightly toasted cherry skin nose. Needed time and warmth in the glass to open, but opened nicely in the end. Entry is sweet tart fruit with a nice weight to the fruity mid-mouth. Quite drying tannins coming a bit too early with quite a long white pepper finish. Very solid bottle but needs yet more time to integrate the tannins and smooth the finish. With time in the glass the tannins backed off a bit later - nice.

Much much better than expected (taking into account preview reviews). The nose is spectacular (and complex). The acidity gives good balance to the wine. Perfect to drink right now !

Drikkeklar. Lidt Bordeaux over den, med tobak, cedertræ og mørke frugter. Sor udvikling over de tre timer det tog at drikke den. Lækker. DKK250 er lige i overkanten.

Dark garnet, on the dark side for a Brunello. Nose of earth, mint, some spices. Medium+ bodied with very present tannic core, a tad rustic but good freshness. Solid but needs a bit more aromatics for a higher score.

Jumps out of the glass like gang-busters with soaring aromatics associated with rich/ ripe fruit ( fill in your choice of usual suspects). Delicious for first 15minutes but instead of becoming more interesting with air it just sat like a lump of coal. Going nowhere . OK on a restaurant list for drinking in the next 2-3 years but now worthy of cellaring (at least in my cellar)

Brunello with medium body, silk, smooth, vanilla. As always a pleasure to drink. It is a pitty that you get this wine only locally.

Tasted this Brunello against some of it competition, Casanova di Neri, which I think won the mini challenge. Both were quite good, but both need more years to mature. I found the San Polo a little smokey and a whole lot more tannic. Lots and lots of tannin. This one may need 3 years or more to really find its center. Interestingly, the rest of the dinner guests were about evenly split on these 2 wines. I think we may …

Lovely colour. Some signs of aging with bronze shimmer. Flamboyant nose of violets, sour cherry, stalactite minerality. Fantastic mouthfeel and very round profile. 2 years will make a big difference to this but in another 8 it will be fantastic.

Decanted and drank over 3 hours. Earthy, leather, dark cherry with dusty tannins. Not ready...needs a long decant if drinking now. Will wait 2-3 years for next bottle.

Juicy red fruit, a little toffee, purple flowers. Not very forthcoming on the nose. On the palate, more fruit, spice, vanilla. More modern style production, french oak. M+ acid, H tannin. Drops away in the middle and short on the end, a bit too much bitterness in the back. Competent wine, but there are better options in this price range. :: IWM Brunello Tasting 6/29/13

Lovely fruit-forward wine, with delicious fruit (dried cherries, pomegranate) and slight mineral connection to the earth - all hiding the high alcohol(14.5%). Enjoyed with roasted pork loin, roasted potatoes and carrots with herbs. Get more - drink over the next 5 years.

Decanted for two hours. Tons of spice, blackberry, sweet leather, chalk and straw. The long, spicy finish is captivating, with angular, still soft tannins, with acidity that makes you go instantly for the next sip. Full-bodied and for a long road ahead. Wait or give a serious decant. Drink 2015 -.

Superb Brunello. Tried several in this price range, and this is the best. Give it about an hour or so to open up. Full body, rich flavor with complexity. Will wait a year or more to open up the next bottle.
