The nose is quite pretty with bright berries and cherries. Pretty linear though on the palate with slightly harsh tannins and just not much going on. Compared to other 2013 SCMs and for the price point, this is disappointing.

California Vacation (Sonoma, SF, Monterey); 8/5/2017-8/12/2017 : Tasted at winery. really liked this. dried flowers. red licorice. raspberry. earth. nice structure with fresh acids and soft (but present) tannins.

A Visit to Thomas Fogarty Winery (Thomas Fogarty Winery) : In my view this wine is a little big. Nose is of twizzlers, black licorice, candied red fruit, alcohol and lavender. Almost resembling a Rhone. This just wasn't really doing it for me.

IPOB San Francisco...final event...lots of great wines, short notes... (San Francisco, RN74) : Another interesting single vineyard site from this vintner. Medium ruby color. Red fruits, cherry, spices, some green notes (perhaps from whole cluster fermentation) and nice minerality on the finish. Drink well now and should continue to improve.
